Everyday Eddie Guardado is pitching? I thought he got taken off the field on a stretcher earlier in the season. He's about 100 years old with 200 years on his left arm. Maybe he's had an arm transplant.
Obviously it is a rarity for a guy hitting .220, but he did have a good night tonight, so there is no reason to crack on him tonight. If everyone had been on base 3 times they would be winning this game.
If they skip the 5th starter on the open date, he'd be on target to pitch the last game against the Yankees. With the Yankee luck, he'll miss the series.
There won't be too many games where is arteries are clear enough to pitch a game like he did tonight. This was a big missed opportunity for the Yankees.
I have a nephew who is a luxury box owner for the NY Mets. I have gotten to know his host very well as my nephew has invited me to several Met sponsored functions. The Met host has a close friend who works with the Red Sox. He told me that he would put in a word with his friend if I wanted season tickets. He did, but nothing could be done. You need to know someone very high up the food chain for the Sox to make an exception. Of course you are very young and they are bound to suck again at sometime during your adult years and things will loosen up then.
But as is typical of Yankee luck, Tori Hunter (who is red hot) is going on bereavement leave because his granny died. Of course Frank Big Hurt Thomas will be back with the A's this weekend.
