  1. Twins beat the Rangers 3-2.
  2. The Yankees with a Yankee Yes Classic as Cano hits a 3-run walkoff. White Sox Pitcher got ARod and tex to start the inning and then fell apart against Matsui and Swisher before giving up the HR to Cano.
  3. Tampa lost tonight.
  4. This has to hit the Tampa Clubhouse very hard. Isn't kazmir the all time win leader for the franchise. He was always one of the cornerstones for this young team. To trade him for essentially nothing can't send a good message to the team. I would expect it to have a demoralizing effect.
  5. Tigers 6 Rays 1 Top of the 7th
  6. 3-0 Twins in the 5th
  7. 3-0 twins in the bottom of the third.
  8. Twins are leading the Rangers 2-0 in the bottom of the 1st inning. Twins announcers say that the Kazmir trade is not final yet.
  9. NESN announcers say that the Kazmir trade has been completed.
  10. I'd move him to 1st even sooner. There's no way that I take the risk of injuring a hitter like Mauer.
  11. Would this signal that the Rays are throwing in the towel for 2009? It would probably be viewed that way in the Tampa clubhouse.
  12. Trevor Hoffman was also reportedly claimed off waivers.
  13. If Saturday's game gets rained out, it is likely that they would play a Day-Night Double header on Sunday. Your Saturday ticket would get you into one of the two games, most likely the nightcap. There is also the possibility that they reschedule the rainout for an open date in the schedule for both teams. Do Boston and Toronto have Monday as an open date?
  14. At this point, I don't know how they can count him in the 2010 plans other than to compete for a backup job. There is no assurance that this wrist condition will not be chronic.
  15. If we let the Yankees take him, we would have to provide another player to the Mets.
  16. Because it accomplishes nothing. It will do nothing to hurt the Red Sox chances. They'll pull him back and ship him to the Mets at a later date. What it does and why it is petty is that it will screw over Carter by forcing him to stay in an organization that has no plans for him, and time is running out on him. He's getting a little long in the tooth to be considered a prospect. If the Yanks had let the deal go through, he would have gone to his new team which is so depleted that it would have been likely that he would have seen some September major league playing time. They screwed him over big time.
  17. And this is why I hate the Yankees. What petty ********.
  18. I didn't say that's what i expected. What I really expected, was for him to have a few setbacks and not make it back until September if at all. That's what i expected, and the Sox would have been better off if his rehab had got derailed.
  19. I really didn't have big expectations, considering his age and arm surgery, but I didn't expect the level of suck that he gave us. He took Penny-suck to a new level. I wouldn't have been surprised if he had been a .500 picher with a low 5 ERA.
  20. Penny and Smoltz -- combined Salary $10.5 million 9 cheap wins and 13 losses. The combined ERA, WHIP and other stats are even more laughable. What a bargain!
  21. he had a rotation spot out of Spring Training. He didn't crack the rotation because of injuries.
