  1. 5 HRs ... why is he still out there?
  2. Josh beckett's Home Run Derby the 2009 Edition
  3. He playing Beckett's 2006 Home Run Derby the last two games.
  4. Gom, you still don't want Mastsui in a Fantasy trade?
  5. Who is slower in a foot race-- VMart or Big Papi?
  6. I'm still shaking my head that the two hottest hitters on the team (Ortiz and Drew) are on the bench for Varitek and Baldelli.:thumbdown
  7. They gave us an out and we gave it back.
  8. He's sitting Papi who is on a tear and who took CC deep the last time at Fenway. He's laded up the lineup with righties who all night will be swinging at sliders that would have hit them in the back foot.
  9. There might be an argument that there is more parity in the AL, but I don't think there is an overall big talent gap. I agree that there is still a talent gap that foavors the AL, but not to the extent there was about 5 years ago. I think a lot of young taent has established itself in the Nl moreso than in the AL in the last 5 years.
  10. The Tigers were near the bottom of the league in OBP. There lineup did not work pitchers. The Cards had a bad record because a number of their stars were injured. They got healthy for the stretch run and particularly the playoffs. Plus, the Tigers helped give away the WS. Good teams don't throw away 4 games with errors.
  11. Both the Mets and the cards were better than the Tigers. I was at game 7 when the cards beat the Mets. They all though that the Cards would get steam rolled by the Tigers. I made a few wagers that night, because I had seen a lot of the Tigers that year, and I didn't think that they were very good.
  12. Yes, and that would be definitive proof.
  13. The cards were the betterr team. All their guys got healthy at the right time.
  14. .024 difference in 2009 league OPS and .012 difference in 2008.
  15. 4 of the last 8 World Champions were National League teams.
  16. In 2008, the difference was 0.06 in ERA
  17. Thyere's a 0.22 difference in league ERA's , so the difference is not that big.
  18. Smoltz line today: 5 inn 0R 3H 0BB 9k's And the Cards are winning 5-1 after 6 innings. Of course, he does this after wrecking our season.
  19. Kottaras is a complete zero.
  20. The Mets game ended with Eric Bruntlett turning an unassisted triple play with the tying runs on base. The Phillies started the inning with two erros and a hit. The hit could easily have been scored an error. Just when it looked like luck might have finally been on the side of the Mets, they start their runners and hit into the unassisted triple play.
  21. His velocity was consistent at 90-91. He hasn't ben there in more than 2 years. His command was inconsistent. That should come.
  22. Smoltz single handedly knocked me out of a money slot in one league.
  23. He's hitting 90-91 regularly in the 3rd inning. He's giving up some shots, but nothing lime Smoltz or Penny.
  24. Gom, I sent a trade proposal.
