A.J. has had a terrible season, but he does have good stuff if he can pull himself together. Pettitte has always been a good big game pitcher. Hunter has nothing. He reminds me of Al Nipper. Colby Lewis? Come on. Do you want him on the mound for your team or Pettitte? It's not even debatable. What's your prediction? I'm going with the Yanks in 5. I can't see it going any further than that. If the Rangers come charging out of the gate and the Yanks are flat and the Rangers win 2 of the first 3 games, the Rangers would have the advantage with a rested Lee going in game 7. The only way the Rangers can win is if they can extend the series to 7 games.

Tommy Hunter and Colby Lewis will get pumelled. One of those guys is going to lose two games to keep the series from getting to a 7th game, so Lee will get only one shot at the Yanks.

I hate this. I don't want ownership's attention or resources diverted by this.

Lee would probably not pitch until game 3. They would probably be down 0-2 before Lee gets the ball. CJ has a chance to beat them, but I'm wouldn't be real confident about it. The other guy pitching game two would just be a pinata.

Whether or not to resign VMart is certainly going to be one of the most critical off season FO decisions. I just don't have a good handle on his value to the team. I'm not talking $ value. Does he make the Sox a better team? I'm just not sure. It's great to have a bat like his at the catcher position, but how much of a negative is he defensively. How many more runs does the pitching staff give up when he is behind the plate? I don't put a lot of stock in WAR. I don't discount it when comparing players to each other, but I do firmly believe that when you have the right combination of players the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts.
