  1. I wasn't complaining about the Sox not winning as many championships as the Yankees. You said that the Sox had won twice in five years. I was pointing out that they had not won twice in the last 5 years and that only the Yankees have a shot at that. The Yankees last 5 years has been better than the Sox whether or not they win the Championship this season.
  2. Sucking Yankee cock? What the hell are you talking about? I'm the guy that wants their entire team to get pilot's licenses. I'm not going to wash the balls of our FO that has a ton of money and that spends a ton of money, but has managed to finish in third place twic in the last 5 years. They have made more than their fair share of really bad investments. Dice K and Julio Lugo top that list.
  3. Why are you attacking me? Are you incapable of a discussion without getting personal? Let's discuss the record of the current FO if you want, but drop the other nonsense.
  4. So, you think we can improve the horrendous bullpen by getting rid of Papelbon? I don't see that possibility.
  5. Maybe the Yanks do not have an endless supply of money. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/business/no_harm_no_foul_y7JthChjRtpTerNOPTgo0J
  6. Other than Ichiro and Hideki Matsui, have any players from the Japanese league been worht the effort and investment? Two stars after all these years is not a good track record.
  7. Counselor, I have never stated that injuries were not the most significant factor. That is a misinterpretation. In fact, when it was announced that Youk was done for the season, I posted that our playoff chances were done. Doesn't that sound like I thought injuries were significant. However, to blame everything on injuries (like some act of God) gives the FO a pass on other short comings. I don't need to look at the stats to know that our bullpen was garbage and that the pens in Tampa and NY were far superior. I firmly believe that if we swapped pens with one of those teams, we'd be going to the playoffs despite the injuries. To ignore the other shortcomings of this team and blame it all on injuries is a losers lament. The Mets FO blamed 2009 on injuries and they did nothing to rebuild the rotation or bullpen as the Braves and the Phillies did in the offseason, and they suffered a similar fate in 2010. If the Sox FO thinks that coming back healthy is the simple answer for 2011 is the simple answer, they will be making a mistake. They have plenty of work to do.
  8. When did I say that injuries were not a factor? I've consistently said that they were not the only factor. Are you going to tell us that our suck balls bullpen was not also a factor? You are the Papelbon hater, so I thought you would give the bullpen some blame. I'll say it one more time injuries were not the only factor in the Sox missing the playoffs. Just to clarify, not being the "only factor" means that they were a factor.
  9. He's not a free agent this year. If he rebounds next year, he won't go hungry in free agency.
  10. Our bullpen sucked tonight as usual.
  11. Alomar II has his average up to .265.
  12. Injuries were a big factor this season, but so was an atrocious bullpen and bad defense, base running and overall fundamentals. Give us the Yankee bullpen and we are in the playoffs despite the injuries. The Yankees have had a better 5 years than us. They've missed the playoffs only once, beaten us 3 out of 5 years, and they can still win their second World Championship in the 5 year period 2006-2010.
  13. Cause you are a sick pup like me.
  14. I don't think the 5 year track record is great considering the financial resources and payroll of the Red Sox. Tampa has beaten us twice in 5 years with much less resources. The track record isn't bad, but two 3rd place finishes in 5 years is not great.
  15. Saito was healthy and back pitching for the Dodgers at the end of 2008 before the Red Sox picked him up.
  16. I am opposed to dumpster diving for post surgical or injured pitchers. The last time that worked out for the Sox was Luis Tiant.
