On one end the screen shows the ticket office and you start off at the opposite side of the screen. As the screen refreshes, it shows you moving closer to the ticket office.

He had a very bad throat today and he could hardly speak. I noticed at one point his voice gave out entirely and his eyes watered up. He just had a bad cold.

I didn't get selected this year. Usually we have at least one poster that gets selected to attend Christmas at Fenway. If you got selected to attend, post about the experience here. It is a lot of fun. They have some players show up. They have a trivia contest. The WEEI guys are doing the show in the room. This year they are going to let people take Batting Practice. It's all really cool. These guys know how to treat the fans. Tickets went on sale today on the internet and the phone. I got through and got tickets on the phone (only single games available) and on the internet. In past years, I sat in the virtual waiting room for 3 to 5 hours and most of the PAX were sold out. This season they made a lot of improvements. They show your progress on line which helps a lot. I waited about 45 minutes to an hour on line. The Opening Day Pax I couldn't purchase, but I did get 2 tickets for the Friar Pack and the Padre Pack. I got through on the telephone first. I got 2 tickets to April 30th and May 1st (Mariners) and May 7th and 8th (Twins). I am as happy as a pig in s***. I am never so happy to spend money as when I buy Sox tickets.

I'm good with the rotation. I think the lineup will hit enough that a weak pen shouldn't become a big issue before the end of May.

There could be some lefties stacked up at the bottom of the order, but AGon hits lefties pretty darn good because he waits for the ball to get deep in the zone and he drives it the other way. I am a firm believer in stacking the best hitters together at the top of the lineup. I do not believe in putting a lesser hitter in the top of the order to extend the batting order. -

I like Pedroia in the lead off spot because of his OBP and then I'd go lefty righty. That makes the 3rd spot a RH spot and Youk is the best RH hitter on the team. -

I'm not complaining now, so there goes that theory. If I wasn't so old, I'd be turning cartwheels. It seem really hard for you to muster much enthusiasm about this deal. At least that is the vibe that I am getting. That's too bad. Our guy, ...correction ... my guy, Theo just scored the most talented FA non-pitcher of the 2010 class. You should be reveling, if for no other reason than the fact that Yankee fans all over NY swallowed their tongues when they got the news. They are not happy at all.

I'd move Pedroia to lead off. I'd stack the best hitters right at the top. Petey is a high OBP. I'd love to see him and Crawford setting the table for the big boppers-- Youkilis, AGon and Ortiz. I'm not a believer in trying to extend the lineup by putting one of the lesser guys (i.e. Ellsbury) in the top of the order. My order against RHP would be: 1. Pedrioa 2. Crawford 3. Youkilis 4. AGon 5. Ortiz 6. Drew 7. Scutaro 8. Salty/Tek 9. Ellsbury Aginst LHP: 1. Pedrioa 2. Crawford 3. Youkilis 4. AGon 5. Ortiz 6. Cameron 7. Drew 8. Scutaro 9. Salty/Tek It would be great to get Russell Martin and work him into this lineup.

Did I mention any poster by name? No, I didn't. As you would say, it was directed at no one in particular. I think turnabout is fair play in this case. I am continuously mischaracterized as anti-Theo all the time. As long as that continues, I think it is fair for me to refer to others as the "Theo can do no wrong" crowd or fanboys. It's funny that in criticizing me for that you continue to mischaracterize me by saying "[y]ou find a reason to criticize every move, every time." The fact is that we have different approaches so we will criticize Theo for different moves. There was just a lot of people on this board who were in shock that Theo was of like mind with me on this move. I find it funny that so many people claim to know what Theo thinks about things and what his approach will dictate. I never presume to know what he will do. I just post what I would like him to do. I am ecstatic that he did this. As for your comment about AGon, are you accusing me of not wanting to get AGon. I love that he got AGon. So, I don't know what you are talking about.

I had moved onto discussing the teams other needs last night as many of the "Crawford would be fiscally irresponsible and the FO is not fiscally irresponsible" crowd was trying to wrap its head around the signing. It was interesting to see the "Theo does no wrong " crowd try to come to grips with something that they had considered so anti-Theo. Very funny indeed.

All along I kept saying all along that I thought it was a possibility that he would get signed. I also disputed that Werth was the better value. On both counts I was mocked and told that I was nuts, high on drugs etc. When people started discussing Manny, I thought my head would explode because there was zero chance they would bring back a guy that forced himself out of town, and who demanded a trade, but I was told that there was a better chance of that than getting Crawford.

These are two mega moves. This is the biggest, boldest off season by this ownership group.
