  1. I know that you were being dry. More so than most fans here, I have a year to year outlook. I am thrilled to get this guy for 2011. I am just pointing out to those in the Theo fan club that we only have him for one year, and it was not cheap talent wise. I'm actually surprised that they are okay with the deal. I agree that there is a lot going on behind the scenes, and IMO AGon's agent is in a great position. The FO can't be happy with him having this kind of leverage. We shall see. As for me, 2011 is all I really care about right now, so this was a major move.
  2. Thank you for the sanity.
  3. ...and Tom Yawkey has been documented as committing genocide and atrocities on people? I hate when people condemn other people for things based on nothing other than public opinion. Maybe he had racist views. I wouldn't know, and neither would you, but to equate a man who was loved and respected by the many people who did know him with a Hitler is absurd.
  4. They still have work to do. They are a couple of moves away from a very strong 2011 team.
  5. This is an injustice to anyone who suffered through the atrocities of the Nazis and insult to those who fought to rid the world of such evil. You are a fool.
  6. Basically, they agreed to the trade with no extension in place. Werth is no longer an option so they s*** themselves and went through with the deal. Until I hear there is an extension in place, I am not counting on having him beyond 2011. This was a save face decision by a FO that took a major credibility hit today. I'm fine with this. We have a stud for 2011, but let's not paint this as a major FO accomplishment yet.
  7. Now, it is becoming clear what happened. With Werth off the table for a huge payday, the Sox FO decided to go ahead with the trade withno extension for AGon. Their options are dwindling to nill, so they have to roll the dice and go ahead with the deal and hope to extend AGon. I'll enjoy him for 2011, but who knows what happens. Essentially Werth got Holliiday money, which makes the Sox *******s for letting Holliday go by the boards last season. This FO is a bumbling crew.
  8. Tom Yawkey was a very generous and caring man. Let's not besmirch him in this way.
  9. This is turning into some soap opera. There's a one line story that AGon has been acquired and there is a press conference tomorrow? This is an emotional roller coaster ride.
  10. There's no agenda except wanting the Sox to do well and win. You are right that we have to see how this shakes out, but today has been tremendously disappointing. It's been a huge emotional letdown.
  11. Now, if they sign Beltre, the first question at the Press Conference can be: How does it feel to be the Sox second choice? This is a disaster on so many levels. Where are Theo's ballwashers today? Are you finally going to hold this guy accountable for something?
  12. Don't they have a race team too?
  13. They really should sign Beltre and move on from this.
  14. Most Ivy Leaguers are inept at business. A NY street vendor would rob the eyes out of Theo's head in a negotiation.
  15. We need the old guy back in the FO. What was his name? He's an old wily pro. People didn't eat his lunch.
  16. With the highest ticket prices. There will be some angry people at the XMas at Fenway event next Saturday.
