  1. The Orioles also added Justin Duchsherer too. I'm not a fan of Dumpster Diving, but at $700k he comes cheap enough. http://mobile.boston.com/art/52/sports/baseball/articles/2011/02/04/duchsherer_finalizes_700000_contract_with_os/
  2. The Orioles are a greatly improved team. Plus, they have a good manager for the first time in years. http://mobile.boston.com/art/52/sports/baseball/articles/2011/02/04/ap_source_guerrero_orioles_agree_to_deal/
  3. Character and integrity means doing the right thing when no one is looking. Andy P stuck needles in his ass to cheat. I won't crucify him for that cause many players were cheating at the time. However, he held himself out as a man of high religious and moral character while doing it. He continued to lie about it even after he got caught until the stakes were raised by the Congressional inquiry. That's not character or integrity.
  4. IMO Curt Schilling is a baseball god. He came to Boston saying he was coming to break an 86 year old curse, and he delivered and helped the team to two championships-- the only two thus far in my long lifetime. Very few players or coaches can make good on such a boast. Isn't that right, Rex Ryan.
  5. I was thrilled that Pettitte threw his best friend under the bus, and I was glad that he did it in such a backstabbing cowardly way. We all knew that Clemens was human garbage, but this episode exposed Pettitte as a lowlife liar backstabbing rat. I already knew that he was a huge religious hypocrite and phony.
  6. As I said earlier, the PED usage was the least of his bad qualities. That only made him a cheater. Plenty of players were cheating at the time, but Pettitte held himself out as a devoutly religious man who turned to Jesus for guidance. I could really care less about the PED use. Manny and others PED users did not hold themselves out as religious role models. When he first got caught by being named in the Mitchell Report, he lied and said that he only used it the two times as indicated in the report. Later, when Congress came knocking and the stakes were higher, he remembered using it additional times, but he claimed to have prayed to Jesus before injecting himself. Wow, what a good religious thing to do. Pettitte claimed to have turned to Jesus for guidance when he left the Yankees for Houston. He claimed he went to Houston to be close to his family. Yet, only a few short years later his family somehow must have relocated east, because he returned to the Yankees for big bucks. Those decisions had everything to do with money and nothing to do with Jesus or family. That makes him a phony and a hypocrite. I can't stomach religious hypocrisy. As for Clemens, sure he is a shitbag, but he and Andy were best friends which speaks volumes about Pettitte also. In the end Pettitte showed his true colors by ratting out his best friend like a coward. He did it by swearing out an affidavit. He also had his wife do an affidavit so that the Feds would agree to not make him testify before Congress and accuse Clemens face to face like a man. He is a backstabbing rat who sold out his best friend like a coward. It doesn't matter that we don't like Clemens or that Clemens is a shitbag. He was Pettitte's best friend. PEDs are the least of the problem with Pettitte. The man has zero character, but parades himself around with a totally phony public persona.
  7. I'm glad that RSFFL's ban is not permanent. He never engages in any fighting or feuding.
  8. To Paraphrase the immortally obnoxious John Sterling: Season Ova! Playoffs Ova! World Series Ova! Thuuuuh Yankeees Lose!!!! Thuuuuh Yankeees Lose!!!!
  9. Being a phony, hypocrite, rat-snitch has nothing to do with his use of PEDs. The PEDs made him a cheater, the least of his bad qualities.
  10. He was a phony, a hypocrite, a cheat, and a rat-snitch. Nothing classy about that at all.
  11. Two rookies in the rotation or one rookie and Freddie Garcia. No playoffs for you.
  12. It's fine to call someone out on their opinion. That is what we do here, but it is pointless to debate whether someone can be certain about their opinion. If they are certain, then they will have nowhere to hide if they are proved wrong. Me, I hate wishy washy opinions with all sorts of qualifiers and contingencies. Put it out there and take you lumps if you are wrong, but proving to the person that they can't be certain about their opinion is silly.
  13. I think we can all differentiate between opinion and fact, even if that opinion is stated with absolute certainty. If he doesn't understand that he was stating an opinion then he is delusional, and it doesn't pay to argue with or correct a delusional person. By now it should be an accepted premise that this forum is almost entirely opinion. Nothing is more boring than arguments where one party is saying he is certain and others disputing that possibility. It's all opinion.
  14. Without Pettitte, it's... meh.
  15. It's an opinion forum. Facts can support our opinions, but in the end no one can be certain about his/her predictions/opinions. I come about as close to certainty as humanly possible. I have no problem with someone stating his/her opinion in a strong manner or couching it in terms of certainty, because I realize that it is merely an opinion. I don't see the need to point that out each and every time someone states an opinion.
  16. More dumpster diving by the Yanks. Lol! They have the biggest payroll in the game, and they are sifting through garbage for pitching.
