  1. He should get along great with B.J. Upton.
  2. Their offense should be pretty potent. I guess Manny and Damon will share LF and DH. If they had kept Garza, they would have had a solid rotation too. Their bullpen has been decimated. The rotation will be okay if Hellickson can emerge as a big time starter.
  3. Angels will have a very good fielding OF with Wells and Hunter.
  4. The Sox don't have anyone in their system who will make an impact with the big club before 2013. Someone has quoted this in their signature. It will be proven right.
  5. I guess Heyman had nothing to write about today.
  6. I think Tazawa can't be counted on for much at this point.
  7. OMG! You are looking to get banned.
  8. This is one hell of a bullpen.
  9. Of course a Yankee fan would like that move. Every other team in the AL East would be happy about it.
  10. Even if Nova and Mitre are twice as good as Hughes and Joba were in 2008, the Yankee rotation is in lots of trouble. Giving two rotation spots to two completely unaccomplished rookie kids will be a disaster in the AL East, regardless of the bullpen. The Sox have an All Star lineup. The guys in Toronto can hit with tons of power, and the Oriole lineup will be much improved with Derek Lee, Mark Reynolds, a full season of Roberts, and Wieters with a year of experience. The Rays lineup is still pretty good. The Yankee bullpen arms will be like limp noodles by August 1st.
  11. They are going away for 2011 and 2012, unless Price and Hellickson become vintage Koufax and Drysdale in those years. I see them back in the basement in the AL East behind Baltimore and Toronto.
  12. I'm not sure why the Yankee FO tactic would be embarrassing to the fans. As a fan, my only care is that they put good players on the field. Maybe they are embarrassing themselves with this stupid tactic, but I don't think their fans are embarrassed. They should be happy that they got a really good pitcher.
  13. Two rotation spots filled with rookies? The last time that happened was 2008 - a year when the Yanks missed the playoffs. I declared them dead in the first half of the season. I can't remember the last time that I had done that. If they do not land an experienced effective starter before the start of the season, I would expect that the 2011 Yanks would meet the same fate, despite the kick ass bullpen.
  14. This was the one guy that I didn't want the Yankees to get after Cliff Lee was off the table.
  15. They have two slots in the rotation that they need to fill. Nova and Mitre are not going to cut it. Will Joba be moved back to the rotation? Their pen is very deep with Mo, Soriano, Joba, Feliciano and Robertson.
  16. This gives the Yankees a kick ass end of the bullpen.
