Good idea to walk a guy in front of the Guardians best hitter.

Nice throwing error by Suckalotteya. He's a two way player.

The Twins are completely futile against the Yankees. Every year it is the same story.
  4. a700hitter
Neither can I, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting.

I don't even know why the Twins bother making the trip. They could cut some expenses and give their guys rest by just skipping the Yankees series.

Offense is making Tomlin look like Roy Halladay. Thank goodness Suckalotteya got a well placed groundball.

At age 8 in 1967. 44 years and counting. It's my addiction.

I realize that it is very very early in the season, but I think the Sox reliance on Salty and their passing on Martin will prove to be a critical misstep. Only time will tell.
  9. a700hitter
Salty isn't quelling any concerns yet.

Clay gives up 4 HRs and the offense made Harrison look life Cliff Lee, but everyone is beating on Papelbon. Lol!!!

I still don't understand the decision to have Lackey start game 2. Yesterday's results aside, did he do this to set up the rotation against the Yankees?
  12. a700hitter
I am glad that I didn't see this game.

Penny is the Tigers game 2 pitcher? Are they kidding?

Lester had nothing today. His velocity was down. His command was off. No strikeouts for a strikeout pitcher. Bard blew up really bad. I never would have predicted that Wakefield would relieve Bard on opening day. Crawford looked like hell against lefties. On the bright side, there are no platoon concerns with AGon and Ortiz already has half of his 2010 HR production against lefthand pitching.

It is definitely not a devastating blow like the Wainwright injury.

Lester is doing his Josh Beckett impersonation?
  17. a700hitter
Dipre gets screwed by the injury bug as Matt Holliday goes down with an appendectomy. Drafting Cardinals looks like a very risky opposition.

He was on the same staff with Tiant and Marty Pattin in 1972. He had good stuff until his arm gave out that year.

Such is the hit and miss uncertainty regarding prospects.

It would be hard to find anyone better than Gibson.

Although still great in Boston, his best years were behind him by the time he joined the Sox.
