Breaking News- Torey Lovullo is out of the running for the vacant Red Sox managerial post. Johnny Pesky is rumored to have declined the post, because his actuarial life expectancy of 6 months would be unlikely to get the team through the 2012 campaign. Pesky is said to have recommended his 75 year old grandson for the position.

If we can get him at a reasonable cost in prospects as the Theo comp, I guess it would be a no-brainer.

Yes they are on a path for a repeat right now. Hopefully, there will be a change of course. -
2/20 would have been a good deal as opposed to $14-15 million for 2011.

Ortiz would be a fool not to accept arbitration, if they think he can get $15million for 2012. He will not do any better than 2/$20 million from anyone. Unless he suffers a career threatening injury or his performance falls off a cliff, he'll do much better than a 1 year deal in 2013 than $5 million.
