Since you obviously can't take what you dish, maybe you should take your own advice, especially since I am capable of inflicting physical injury over the internet and across an ocean.     Yeah, you have. I guess you can dish it ... As for the rationalizing the thing with Ital, I don't rationalize it at all. We went at each other and worked each other up into some nastiness. The whole thing passed in one night. I can't imagine why you need to relive that argument. My disagreements with Ital were mild compared to other disagreements I and others here have had.

    I really don't think getting anything for Epstein was a priority. They wanted to go in a different direction and the Cubs job came up at a very convenient time for both Epstein and ownership.

What's with bringing up the ban constantly. I was not perma-banned like a few of our members in good standing. BTW, People 30 years younger than me are full fledged adults. At 23 I was married and in Law School, fully capable of taking on old men in arguments. Ital and I got off on the wrong foot, and Yeszir, wisely gave us a cooling off period. Ital and I moved passed it, but apparently you haven't, because you keep bringing it up. Repeating oneself is a warning sign of senility. You should be aware of that. Don't be so sensitive about being and old hag. That's coming from an old fart.

    The Boston media is a bunch of pricks. I have witnessed their handiwork for 45 years. There are some differences with the way they relate to this ownership group. Before this ownership, the media had more of the upper hand. The newspaper columnists were a small group, but a well established institution and they were kind of the only game in town. That dynamic has changed since the Sox have become a 24/7 media phenomenon. The press contingent is huge and they are competing with each other. Under past ownership, the press hammered players while they were with the Red Sox. For the most part, that has stopped. While a player is with the Sox, the press, for all intents and purposes, exercises a see no evil hear no evil approach, probably because they don't want to risk their access to players and management. After the players are gone, the press takes off the gloves. I think this is with the tacit approval of the FO which seems to be the most likely source of the leaks that are the basis for these stories.
