  1. ^ He just is!!
  2. Big Papi is just a good hitter.
  3. Yes to reach over the fence to buy a hot dog from the vendor in the bleachers.
  4. I can't stand Jenny Dell's voice. It's grating.
  5. Enough with Clay. Bobby, go to the pen for Padilla. Do we have to continue to follow the 7 run rule?
  6. Very adequate!
  7. Way to step up, Clay.
  8. ^This is the most optimistic report that I have read. Yaz would have missed the rest of the weekend, if that.
  9. Don't be expecting Freddie Lynn.
  10. Welcome to TalkSox. I'm curious about a few things. Have you always lived in Israel? if so, how did you get interested in baseball? Finally, what happened to that professional baseball league that was formed in Israel a couple of years ago?
  11. When saw how well the Fenway feel could be recreated in Fla in a stadium that went up in less than a year, I have no doubt that they could build a new MLB facility that would make you think you were sitting in Fenway but without all the sight obstructions and seats pointed in the wrong direction. BTW: I guess the Fenway feel includes small seats, because the seats in JetBlue Park are definitely smaller than the seats at City of Palms Park.
  12. When the Sox did little to address their obvious off season holes, many people believed that the team still had enough talent to be competitive for a playoff spot, but acknowledged that good health would be a necessity to make a playoff run. Well, we're barely out of the starting blocks, and we've lost our closer for most of the season leaving the bullpen in disarray and inadequately stocked with effective arms. We've also lost our All Star Centerfielder for 2 months and our big money left fielder is still out with an injury. We are experiencing the one thing that many people didn't think that the team could withstand. I am sure some of those people will reconsider their prior opinions in this regard, but I don't think prospects are very bright at this point. The FO hasn't made a move to bolster the pitching since Bailey went down. I don't think they will make a move to strengthen a very thin OF corps. What fun! We'll get to watch some combination of Ross, Sweeney, DMac and Lin for weeks until Crawford returns. It doesn't exactly conjure up memories of an OF roster of Lynn, Rice, Yaz, Evans and Carbo.
  13. He also had spinal neck surgery in 2011.
  14. Until Crawford comes back, we will have 4 solid hitters Pedroia, Agon, Ortiz and slumping Youkilis) in the lineup and an assortment of 5 mediocre to bad offensive players to go along with them.
  15. Wainright gave up 8 runs in 3 innings. He's 0-2 with an 11.82 ERA at 13+ months after TJ. I don't think we can expect much better from Dice K. I don't think a June 1st return to the rotation is realistic at all.
  16. It just no longer meets the needs of the fans. It's a museum relic, but we will have it for about 30 more years at least.
  17. Putting Lars in LF after 1 game played in the OF in AAA. would be a terrible idea.
