  1. He will get his feet under him. Give him some time.
  2. I am always hopeful and from that stems enthusiasm, but you can't expect too much. If you do, disappointment follows like night follows day.
  3. Plus, Remy did back up what he is saying.
  4. ^ I knew this was going nowhere good.
  5. I'm not arguing with you. I'm just observing that it is a pointless argument that is boring. The two of you are wrestling over this like two dogs with a bone. Sometimes many of us don't know when to let go. Save the pot/kettle remarks all of you. I realize that I am too often one of those people. This is going nowhere but down--this discussion.
  6. You were the most enthusiastic fan in the off season. You gave some of us reasons to dream big. I warned you about that. Lower your expectations. Expect injuries and carnage. Expect to see Ohlendorf as the #2 starter and you will not feel so bad when they actually play the games. Your expectations were too high.
  7. The title of this thread makes me cringe, but not because it is tasteless. I went to a Spring Training game about 2 years ago against the Rays. A bunch of fans at City of Palms Park thought it would be funny to call Longoria, Eva. They even changed his name on the handwritten lineup board. City of Palms is a small ballpark so the players can hear everything. Longo clearly was unhappy with the fans and made some derisive gestures toward the third base stands. In his next two AB's, he hit 2 or the longest HRs that I have seen at that ballpark. One hit toward the top of the big scoreboard in left field and the other almost cleared the batters eye in CF. Fast forward to the regular season in April 2010. After watching the Sox lose a suspended game in extra innings, the regularly scheduled game was a close game. A foul ball was picked up by Longo and put in his back pocket. The fans started chanting Eva, Eva. He waved his hands in that direction in disgust and the next time up... that's right a big blast over the signs on the monster over everything. Please do not taunt this man.
  8. Your whole premise about bashing Tito on this isn't valid. You keep saying that he should take responsibility for the collapse, but you refuse to acknowledge that he was the first one to take accountability and he got fired. Getting fired is being held accountable. The rumor mongering and and whisper campaign is nothing more than an unnecessary smear.
  9. They need Fenway to breathe life into them.
  10. Cherrington didn't even know that Santos was available. He's so on top of things.
  11. Would you pitch to Ortiz here? Not me.
  12. It was a deliberate and unnecessary smear of someone who had been your manger for 8 years. It was despicable behavior on the part of the organization. That's what, and he did take responsibility for his part in the collapse. He got fired. You keep missing that point.
  13. Romero is just mowing us down.
  14. My recollection is that Francona said that only the training staff knew about the pain killers.
  15. So should the barometer for whether the Sox have good players in RF, SS and C always be a comparison to the crew that was part of the worst September collapse in baseball history?
  16. That's always been the issue with Lester. Romero's pitch count is perfect.
  17. Leaking that type of personal and medical information is despicable and legally actionable. It doesn't matter whether it was a cause of the collapse, because he already paid the price by getting fired. It's not like the situation needs to be addressed. It has been addressed, he got fired. The leak was meant to smear him in a very underhanded way. It was despicable, and John Henry is a huge jackass if he can't understand what Francona is upset about.
  18. The leak came from the Red Sox organization. They are the only ones that had knowledge of the situation. The article clearly stated that people in the organization were questioning whether the painkillers were affecting his abilities. Unless Terry dropped a dime on himself, someone working for the Red Sox was the source of the story.
  19. The only trend that I have noticed is that we suck on the road. Our starting pitching has a 7+ ERA. As a group, they are in Lackey-land. Let's hope Fenway gets them going.
  20. Although heading soccer balls has been proven to cause brain damage.
