  1. Big step forward by Bard tonight. He has done nothing but throw strikes. The 0 walks is a huge step in his development. Some of his pitches have been too good, but if you avoid walks, you can give up a few hits and avoid big inning. Now, we need to get to Drabek, who is pitching the best game he has ever pitched against us.
  2. Wow, Orsillo and Remy get on your nerves. They are about as easy a listen as there is in baseball. Some of the broadcast teams from around the country are really terrible. I do like Bert Blyleven in Minnesota.
  3. Aviles hurt his ankle
  4. Bard would have been the closer, strengthening the pen and the rotation.
  5. Edwin Jackson's average FB velocity was 94.6 mph in 2011. That would have looked nice at the back of the rotation for 200+ innings.
  6. Got it. Yes, I have heard this before.
  7. In Americas Hat? What is that? We usually pummel Drabek. Hopefully, that will not change, and hopefully, Youkilis will snap out of his funk. He looks badly out of sync. It would be be nice for things to start clicking for him.
  8. I was out of the room when I heard that AGon went from 1st to home, but I was surprised to hear that. I heard Gammons. Or someone else last year mention that some coaching could help Agon run better. I really had no idea how that could be done. How can you make someone faster? As for Atchinson, he is a useful 5th or 6th guy out of the pen. Unfortunately, he always gets caught in a numbers game, and if he has any options left, he'll be bouncing back and forth to Pawtuckett. Where did Aceves get the mid-90's heat? If we need a closer tonight, it might be Melancon, because Aceves has pitched back to back nights. I wonder if Padilla will be available tonight?
  9. Yes they did. Hopefully, Aceves can build on this.
  10. Nice win. They showed some balls tonight winning in the 9th inning on the road.
  11. 2 down. 1 more to go.
  12. Who will come in for the save?
  13. How do we feel about 4 innings of bullpen tonight?
  14. Darvish gave up 4 runs against the Mariners in his first inning of work.
  15. Ross is a good platoon player. He puts up very good numbers against LHP, but he is very streaky as a full time player. Don't expect an .800+ OPS from him on a full time basis, cause it ain't going to happen.
  16. Tough call. Albers is definitely terrifying. I haven't seen enough of Bowden to know if he is as terrifying as Albers.
  17. @ the high school kid lecturing people about how to be fans.
  18. The crack head manager was at fault. He should have sent Feliz back out after they regained the lead. Instead he sent out Darren Oliver. It was one of those moves where you just scream out "Oh, no!" if you are rooting for that team.
