  1. That's surprising in light of the problem with Aceves and balks last year.
  2. And tall too!
  3. Rhode Islanders should be happy to give Big Schill their money. It's a stupid ******** state anyway.
  4. Nice hitting by Nava. He really worked that AB.
  5. As per Bobby V, Dice K doesn't think he is close to returning. What a surprise!
  6. Does that heckler guy still go to the Rays games? That was annoying as hell too.
  7. ^ Turn back the clock night to 2011.
  8. I'm glad you think labels are BS. You use them liberally anyway. You should just end each of your posts with bazinga! Speaking for myself, I have never said that the team won't do s*** this year.
  9. But they didn't bench a veteran to let Lester pitch in 2007. That's the issue whether the Sox have a pecking order based on experience and salary. It seem so with the WMB- Youks situation. SoxSport raised that it was also their approach in running out Lackey and Wake at the end of 2011 despite knowing that they stunk. I think they deferred to the experience. They did not think out of the box. Maybe they didn't think Doubs could do the job, but that was part of the problem. He didn't go from completely incapable of filling in for 2 bums to being a good rotation option in 3 months.
  10. Players have moved positions early in their careers. It's been done plenty of times. Sometimes it is a train wreck like Daniel Murphy of the Mets, but other times it is no big deal. Rick Ankiel went from being a pitcher to playing OF. Albert Pujols played 3B and OF in his early career. I don't see what they have to lose by trying it. If the kid can cut it, we'll have both in the lineup. It's ridiculous not to try it. It's ridiculous to send him down or to root for your clean up hitter to s*** himself.
  11. I'd like to have a productive Youk and WMB in the lineup. Why is it that you think they will not even try WMB in the OF? Could he be worse than our OF defense so far this season?
  12. And 3 months later Doubs pushed a button and he was ready? I'm not buying that. He could not have done worse than Wakefield or Lackey. He was worth a try, but as SoxSport said, the Sox have a pecking order. They deferred to the experience of Wakefield and Lackey rather than rock the boat. It was a mistake, and an obvious one.
  13. The annual, "Salty is doing great thread." This one is earlier than last year's
  14. Everything stems from the pitching, but WMB has played a role too. Are you serious that you would want Youk to s*** the bed? I am hoping that he goes back to OPSing at .900+. That would be a nice problem to have.
  15. Kapler had HR pop. He could play CF and RF, much better fielder with a stronger arm and much more speed. Talent-wise, it's not even close.
  16. I agree. To have rolled out those two bums Lackey and Wakefield game after game as the team was going through a record setting collapse and 3 months later they told us that the solution to our starting pitching problems were in-house. If so, why the hell didn't we see them in September instead of forfeiting all of those games. That just makes no sense.
  17. 3 or 4 dingers this week or a 4 for 4 games with a couple of XBHs should change their mind.
  18. He's getting his chance now, and he is making the most of it. He is going to have to continue to impress to have a shot of sticking-- probably need to hit a few HRs. I didn't think he would get another chance after 2010. A lot of things had to go wrong for the team for him to get this shot. This is probably the last shot he'll get.
  19. "Benny the Boob" seems fitting if it goes down this way?
