  1. I don't know what act he is referring to, but he has been underperforming since last year's All Star Break-- 4 months.
  2. From today's article in the Boston Globe: http://www.boston.com/business/technology/articles/2012/05/18/high_risk_video_game_venture_has_rhode_island_curt_schilling_reeling/?page=1 This from a Businessweek article: http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2012-05/D9UPUCH82.htm
  3. It was his concept and he is the project manager. I watch celebrity apprentice. Trump would be getting ready to fire him.
  4. I don't think they win the Division, but can they finish second or third? Even a third place finish could get them a Wild Card berth.
  5. It looks like RI will make every effort to help keep the venture from failing.
  6. Another loss to their offense from last year is Damon. He has been an offensive catalyst every place he has played.
  7. At what point should we start taking the Orioles seriously? Their roster seems well balanced for the first time in a long time, and Showalter runs a tight ship. I think they will stay in the race longer than most people expect.
  8. Our old friend Bronson Arroyo face off against the Yankees and Andy Pettitte tonight.
  9. No one said that he wasn't stupid, but I am sure that you exceed him in that category too. You can take the last word. I'm done with jackasses for today.
  10. You lost your credibility with your Dice K comment. H will not be part of the solution for this team. He was not very good before he hurt his elbow. He'd been sucking it since 2008.
  11. Check the rules. Mocking posters is a no-no, but the rules never apply to jackasses like you. As for concluding that a failed business impugns a persons integrity, well, that stupidity speaks for itself.
  12. I'm not surprised. Jeff Keppinger batting cleanup would not scare a slow pitch softball pitcher. They don't have a lot of offense.
  13. Why is Schilling running for office?
  14. Agreed, but the biggest political amateur is currently occupying the White House.
  15. Drop the mocking, jackass. If you haven't realized, this is a Red Sox forum loaded with crazy Red Sox fans. Speaking for myself, my love for the Red Sox is second only to my family and friends. Schilling was a great player for us, and helped get us to the promised land, not once, but twice. For that he will always be an icon to me. As for his, or any other athlete's personal life, I don't give a s***. This was a business flop, not a ponzi scheme or a crime. Businesses started by athletes flop all the time. Not surprisingly, they are not very good at it. When their businesses flop, their investors lose their money. In this case the State of Rhode Island was an investor. Blame the R.I. politicians. If you don't like Schilling for his political philosophy, fine, but this isn't a political forum. As for your admitted mocking attitude, stick it up your ass. :thumbdown
  16. Some interesting and some funny lines from Peter A's column today: It's amazing that on May 17, the Red Sox have two players on their roster — Daniel Nava and Mauro Gomez — who weren't considered good enough for major league spring training. The Adrian Gonzalez home run drought is beyond worrisome at this point. He has 12 home runs in 411 at-bats since the 2011 All-Star break. He predicted after the game on Wednesday that he would hit one today. Home runs are not everything, but you don't pay a first baseman that kind of money without some expectation of power. Then again, Mark Teixeira has 19 homers in his last 406 at-bats and Albert Pujols 21 in his last 429. Mark Melancon has not allowed a run in 13 innings since being sent down to Pawtucket and he has struck out 21 without a walk. But he seems buried deeper than Jimmy Hoffa at this point. Granted, it's only for $3 million. But Nick Punto has a two-year contract. He also has one more hit in the last month than you do Does anybody else wonder if Theo Epstein feels any guilt for saddling his long-time friend and lieutenant Ben Cherington with this team? Nobody said Epstein had to hang around forever, but he is the baseball equivalent of that Italian captain who jumped off the sinking cruise ship in January.
  17. I always thought Reddick had the more lively bat than Kalish. I have posted about his lively bat for a couple of years. One Spring he just knocked the cover off the ball. Kalish may be the better all around player, but but Reddick has the livelier bat. The ball jumps off his bat. The concern with Reddick is consistency. I think the consistency will come in time.
  18. As compared to his accomplishments, he is humble.
  19. He's closer to Adam Dunn than he is to Pujols, Fielder, Miggy Cabrera, Ortiz and Texeira.
