  1. ^ I think you are right about this.
  2. It is startling that all of the top 3 start sucking all at the same time and no one has a sore arm. What are the chances that all 3 turn bad at the same time for a prolonged period? They are all still young guys. Lester and Buch should be in their primes.
  3. He's only 28. You hate to give up on a young big hard throwing lefty who doesn't have arm trouble. I think they need to see if he pitches better to Shoppach or someone other than Salty before they trade him.
  4. Especially at Fenway where Shoppach can hook the ball to and over the Monster. I have read that Bobby V doesn't like him. We are a team full of divas and now we are managed by a diva. Tito was not a diva.
  5. The big 3 are taking the ball on their turns. They have not had any injuries causing any of them to miss extended periods of time. Lester's performance was down last year. Beckett pitched well in 2011. In 2011, Beckett was caught by Tek, and Lester was caught by Salty. This year beckett doesn't have a designated catcher. I do wonder how much of this has to do with Salty. All 3 guys have fallen off a cliff so suddenly and at the same time.
  6. I question the 3-1 pitch. Remember that Remy and probably everyone watching thought Lester was working around Youk. I think Youk thought the same. Lester fed him a 3-1 fastball that caught him completely off guard. If you have it on DVR, watch it again. Youk steps out and looks at Lester with an amused smile. When i saw that smile, I though, Lester had better not come over the middle again, because Youk was now ready. Lester did and Youk was ready.
  7. I ahve been posting this for weeks. This guys numbers are in decline and this year's numbers are down drastically. His performance is not about bad luck on balls in play. His strikeout numbers bear that out.
  8. I am arguing that if you are going to give away a player who can still perform at a high level, you send him to the NL where he can't hurt you. It is pretty simple. He hurt us last night-- big time. It didn't have to happen, and we will give him two more shots at us tonight and tomorrow. We are still paying the guy. We got nothing for him, and he is motivated to beat us. It's just stupid. SFF, I understand that you are always optimistic about the team's chances, but rooting for the team doesn't mean that you have to support every decision of the FO and management. I don't think this game will end up meaning anything in the end. At least, I hope not. However, we did lose by a single game last year. They never should have sent him to a situation where he could beat us or impact our post-season chances. If he beats us the next two nights, you won't have to worry about arguing with me, because my head will have exploded.
  9. With a s*** load of strikeouts. Whe he goes on a bad streak he reminds me of Brian Daubach in his bad streaks. There were times when I thought he had been struck blind. The difference is that when he was hot Dauber was hitting .35-- 26- and not striking out.
  10. At least we would have gotten some use from a bag of balls. But what are you talking about. Youkilis didn't beat us yesterday. That was just some player with a big ugly ole bald head that hit that 3 run HR and scored another run. It wasn't Youkilis who accounted for 4 of the teams 7 runs.
  11. You really are dense aren't you. We gave him the opportunity to help keep us from the World Series, and if we miss the playoffs by one game, like we did last year, we can point to tonight. Enough of this already. You are just trying to be annoying. Ignore for you Dutchy, Imperial69.
  12. Getting off Youkilis, has anyone noticed the last 2 years that Lester has a klot of problems whenever it is really hot and humid. He always seems to have really s***** command on those nights. He seems to be gassed on those nights. Is this guy out of condition?
  13. SFF, we got no return. They got 2 names to save face. Lillishit was going to get cut by the ChiSox once they activated Youkilis. The prospect was a junk prospect. He was afraid to say he got nothing. giving the guy the chance and motivation to beat us was just stupid. Take nothing and send him to the other league. Here's the fact: He beat us tonight, not someone else. Youkilis beat us. Yes Lester pitched like s***, but Youkilis is the guy who beat him. Youk was smiling when Lester threw the 3-1 fastball. He was licking his chops.
  14. He's the first player to hit a HR for the Sox and then hit one against the Sox since Hawk Harrelson did it in 1969. You are missing the point. It wasn't a trade. They gave him away. If you are going to give the guy away, send him far away.
  15. SFF, Every season one of these guys goes down and misses significant starts. The big 3 have never each taken 30 starts in a single season. You have to have more than them and 2 rookies in the rotation. It wasn't going to be enough. We have been luck that Doubront has pitched well enough and didn't blow up like Bard. But even Doubs will be hitting an innings limit. There just wasn't enough pitching when the season started. I was worried about one of the big 3 going down with an injury. Instead the have essentially gone down with under performance. The whole starting staff has been terrible. I'll give Doubs a bye, because he has been okay. The rest has been garbage. I felt strongly that they should have added another pitcher. Would one pitcher have made the difference? Not if the top 3 keep pitching like this. However, if they do turn it around, the additional acquisition that was never made might have made a difference.
  16. No, I think Cherries was afraid to get nothing for him and took the only thing he got offered-- a bust prospect who will never amount to anything. He incompetent and a coward. If he said that he couldn't get anything helpful for Youk so he salary dumped him to an NL team for nothing rather than send him to an AL team, I would have understood and been okay with that.
  17. Not a single one of these so-called horses pitched 200 innings last season. You over rate them.
  18. Less of a return. We got nothing.
