  1. So, do we have agreement to these terms?
  2. Iortiz, these guys are just sore that I had the good fortune of scooping up one oft the best players in the league off the waiver wire. So, they have to denigrate the guy's talent and achievements as he is tearing up the league. You need pitching and your SS isn't very good either. It is a completely fair trade, but they are in a snit that I picked up both guys on the waiver wire. Let them veto the trade. The proof that the trade was fair will be that Pal will be tracking Segura's and Trout's fantasy point totals every week and it will be close. If Trout wins but doesn't win by a blow out, I don't know how they have any argument as SS is a high premium position.
  3. Scoring System RBI -- 1 pt R -- 1 pt TB -- 1 pt SB -- 1 pt total points measured beginning on Monday. Agreed?
  4. So, trades have to be exactly equal in your opinion or they should get vetoed? That's just ridiculous. Your argument is far from compelling. If you are so sure that this is a one-side trade, you should have no problem making a side bet on Segura vs. Trout using an agreed upon fantasy point system. I'll take Segura. You take Trout. Nothing extravagant. How about $20?
  5. A productive Middlebrooks is a must for the Sox to be a playoff contender. Wow, Nava has really produced some power this season. He continues to do a great job.
  6. ^I was close. He couldn't get through 5 when we get him 7 runs.
  7. Trades that disrupt the competive balance of the leage are the ones that are supposed to get vetoed. We are 2 games apart in the standings and we always play each other to a draw. We will probably be neck and neck with each other right to the end. I guess UN is paranoid being at that top of the standings. He's used to being at the bottom of the heap.
  8. He'll be lucky to get through 5 innings tonight.
  9. This is the Dempster that I remember from the Cubs. High pitch counts and lots of walks. He escapes again.
  10. Lavarnway has the graceful mobility of Frankenstein"s monster.
  11. Dempster is one of those guys that pitches just well enough to lose each game that he pitches. Give him 8 runs of support and he will not make it through 5 frames.
  12. Of course if my good friend, Israel wants to reverse the trade, I would not force him to make a trade that he regrets. There would be no hard feelings on my part.
  13. Segura's numbers are almost equal to Trout's. He's a big upgrade over his current SS. Kendrick is having the best year of any Phillie pitcher. i think the trade helps both teams.
  14. It's the damn Twins and Vance Worley. With Buch on the mound, we should be trashing these guys.
  15. or possibly she was someone else's wife. Crazy s*** happens. Eck's wife left him for his room ate and best friend -- the Guardians CFer Rick Manning. . Ironically, he was know more for his glove than his stick type.
  16. They all cheat on their wives. He must have something else on him.
  17. I would have Nava or Drew lead off and drop Ellsbury to the bottom third of the lineup. Ortiz has to get hacks in the first inning.
  18. I'd prefer that he get a pilot's license.
  19. I am sure that he has done his side work and running, but game conditions are different. Every movement is sudden and explosive. There is conditioning and then there is game conditioning. I would be tempted to bring him in a low leverage situation in his first coupl of appearances so his adrenaline is not too ramped up.
  20. The manager makes out the line up card. If he doesn't have that much authority, then he is little more than an overpaid figurehead. Suit up a bobblehead doll and call it the manger if he can't make out the lineup card. He should be dropping Ells to the bottom and moving everyne up a slot so Ortiz always gets a hack in the first inning. Hopefully Middlebrooks is getting things figured out. We need him to be a force in the middle of the lineip if they want to compete for a playoff spot. Napoli is a wrecking ball but too inconsistent.
  21. I would feel worse if it was a forearm problem instead of a biceps problem. Forearm problems always seem to head straight to TJ. I am concerned that he is going to go from tossing on flat ground to high adrenaline late inning situations after 1 rehab appearance. I have to wonder whether his arm and legs are properly conditioned. I think they need to monitor what is going on who Brian Wilson.
  22. Rodney has reverted to what he was before last season. Tampa thought they could role the dice with him again. They have farnsworth (another inconsistent guy) in reserve if Rodney pitches himself out of the role. Very exciting to pull this one out. Hopefully, Middlebrooks is turning the corner.
  23. If Jenny Dell can ask in the second inning tonight who is the Red Sox MVP to this point in the season, we can discuss this.
  24. Better value Loney or Napoli?
