  1. Still, I must have missed the ensuing lambasting. BTW, I'd be happy to take Papelbon's 2010 instead of what we paraded out there last season and this season.
  2. So, was it a prediction or an observation? There is a difference. An observation is much less impressive. Where was the lambasting? Was that also hyperbole?
  3. I saw Jenks' last outing at Yankee Stadium. He got winded from walking in from the bullpen to the mound and warming up.
  4. I hope they send him to AAA. He's killing one of my fantasy teams, and I don't want to cut him.
  5. I checked the Predictions thread. You didn't post any list of predictions like many other did. No guts, no glory. So, I can't find this Papelbon prediction or the lambasting that allegedly occurred. You did state that you were "cautiously optimistic" about Bard. Suprisingly, no one lambasted you for that one.
  6. And Papelbon is still better than Bailey.
  7. Admitting they are not a door mat does not equate to being a WS caliber team. They are not a door mat, and they have as much talent as any team in the division. That's why only a few games separates the entire division.
  8. It's your interpretation that people are saying his invincible. I am not getting that at all. Even a diminished Papelbon, would not blow up a game the way Bailey does. Paps usually needs some help from a fielding error or a seeing eye base hit. He has given up HRs at a higher rate than usual, but I think he is a guy who will figure it out and adjust. He's not invincible. He's consistent and reliable, not invincible. That's what has made him a great closer.
  9. Take that Mel Gibson. As for Ike Davis, he needs a Jesus miracle, because he hits like a blind man.
  10. SFF, no one has made the argument that he is invincible. He is very consistent from year to year. Youi can practically pencil in his numbers. A bad fielding team assisted in his last 2 blown saves with unearned runs. His K numbers are down right now, but I think he will adjust after these struggles and put up Papelbon numbers.
  11. As I said, Paps in his prime blows away 3 batters in a row. This Paps gave up a single and hit a batter, but the tying run did score on a passed ball with 2 outs. Hopefully, his struggles have lowered his price.
  12. He has had a s*****, but his 3rs BS was caused by an error and last night he came in with men on 2nd and 3rd with no one out. The Papelbon of his prime blows away the next 3 batters. Maybe we can get him cheap. Even a diminished Paps is a ton better than what we have.
  13. So, you were wrong about him... Right? Just clarifying, because some people here really get off on people saying they were wrong.. For me, the fact that you said that he has been "better than expected" was sufficient.
  14. Yep, yep. Sure. You win.
  15. I am pretty sure that I know who it is.
  16. He has performed as most people had hopede he would. The AL and ALE has not caused him to implode as some had feared. A mid 4 ERA and 200 innings would be very helpful to this teams chances.
  17. He's a good ballplayer, but it seem that everytime he goes hard in the field or on the bases he comes up lame.
  18. It was you who said that you didn't understand me. I never said that I didn't understand SFF. Fool.
  19. I'm not surprised.
  20. Clearly this proves that Bailey = Papelbon
  21. Sometimes it isn't worth the effort.
  22. And Bard is making $1.8 million this season.
  23. Rooming with Bard (when he gets off the DL) might help Bailey.
  24. Maybe Bailey will get sent down and room with Bard.
