  1. Prodded him as in "Jon throw f***ing strikes!"
  2. The Sox need to start running the internal guys to the hill immediately for their closer auditions. First up will probably be Taz. As I said yesterday, he has good command of his fastball and secondary pitches. I don't think he has much movement on his FB which I don't think is very overpowering, unless in short stints he can find a few extra mphs. I think he could hold down the job, but he will not be a lock down closer. I don't think he has that stuff to be a lock down closer. Miller has the stuff to be a lock down guy, but he doesn't have the command. They need to figure out what they have internally in the next couple of weeks.
  3. It so much more fun to troll when you misrepresent and misconstrue what others say.
  4. The attempts by some to diminish Papelbon's accomplishments and value are just absurd. Don't forget that Mo got taken deep and lost the deciding 5th game against the Guardians in 1997. Boy, he really sucks.
  5. It was widely known that Jenks was signed as closer insurance when Paps walked.
  6. I like most of this, but why would you DL Bailey? How can he work out his issues from the DL? Why not let him pitch in low leverage situations?
  7. I really admire Tim Duncan, who IMO is the most underrated great player in history. He is a Hall of Famer who has had almost no fanfare in his career. Winning another championship would have topped off his brilliant career.
  8. The Spurs blew their chance several times in game 6. IMO tonight's game was a foregone conclusion.
  9. He is being dropped tonight from tens of thousands of Fantasy rosters tonight.
  10. Toronto is only 5 games down in the loss column.
  11. No team is taking control of the division. Every team is very much alive.
  12. Fred, I guess you had to get that off your chest. Bailey is not a serviceable closer for this team. Changes will be made immediately, so don't worry about a collapse just yet. Lackey has been a big bright spot. A solid rotation is the biggest key. They need to find a guy to lock down games at the end.
  13. In his final season with us, Slocumb was the equivalent of a forfeit.
  14. Slocumb netted us two huge pieces to the final puzzle. Amazing. That was the best Red Sox trade in my lifetime.
  15. OMG, your obsession with Papelbon is unhealthy... just sayin.
  16. His out-pitch was his slider, but he can't throw that anymore I guess because it causes strain on his elbow.
  17. Bailey is like a re-run of Heathcliff Slocumb if anyone here remembers that bum.
  18. Tom Caron to Jim Rice. If the Red Sox have a 1 run lead in the 9th inning tomorrow night" Jim Rice without missing a beat: "No." This bum has already given up 6 HRs -- a career high.
  19. No ballpark is big enough for this guy.
  20. Bradford on Bailey: "He runs into problems with his fastball. He gets too amped up. After two batters, Bradford on Bailey: "I think you'll be seeing changes before too long." Amped up? How about he sucks a bag full of dicks!!
  21. Two batter two runs. Game over. Put a loss in the books. Don't worry fellas. He's a proven closer just going through a rough patch. Yeah f***ing right.
  22. This is a huge opportunity for Bailey to take the glare of attention off of himself. It's a big ballpark. They have to crush it to knock it out of the yard. The big hitters are out of the way
  23. I hope you are right. Every time I get encouraged and think he has turned a corner, he goes back into the funk.
  24. Once you start finding positives in occasional hard hit outs, you are well down the path of failure.
  25. After his last AB, Middlebrooks is batting .192. Good God!! How long can they stick with him?
