  1. Yes, that's what I typed.
  2. The guy is lost right now, and his velocity has beendown since the beginning of the year. They should consider getting him only if Buchholz is going to miss more time.
  3. I guess you must have short term memory issues. I welcome being on your ignore list-- a badge of honor.
  4. I guess that is why you finally gave up talking to yourself.
  5. I get a blank screen. No messages.
  6. Yes, it is just a happy coincidence thath they both have such delicate vaginas.
  7. I can't access the site on my blackberry since the hacking.
  8. Ellsbury went from a disappointment to not a disappointment in 2 day? I must have missed something. Did he have one of those Freddie Lynn 3 Homer and a Triple games?
  9. And they bulldozed by the A's one year 3 -0. He's had good teams for most of his 11 years. Before Morneau became on of the walking wounded, he had a lineup eith two of the best hitters in the game in Mauer and Morneau. He also had Cuddyer and the best pitcher in the game for a few years in Santana, and some good bullpens, but he couldn't get it done in the offseason. If I was a Twins fn I'd be screaming for a new manager.
  10. s*** happens. Injuries. That is why you have to reinforce. You improve weaknesses while admittedly creating some redundancy. If Buchholz continues to be nagged by injury, that would create a glaring need. Rosters will not remain static for our competitors. Right now, we are as good as anyone, but you can probably expect Texas to add a significant piece or two. They have been active in past seasons at the deadline. If they get Cliff Lee they will be very very tough to beat unless we counter. I don't think we have a shot at Lee, and I don't like the rest of the crop available as I don't view them as upgrades. I would move for a big bat, preferably to play everyday in LF who could provide more protection for Ortiz than Napoli can provide. I'd like to see a dominating murderer's row of Pedroia, Ortiz and fill in the blank. A middle like that would make the entire lineup better.
  11. I think it is a combination-- half idiots and half sticking it to the Sox.
  12. Saying "wait for it" is just a stupid phrase. Other than that the Red Sox are good at baseball.
  13. Buchholz's health is a major issue, but if he is healthy again and the rest of the starters are healthy, the starters are good enough to get us to the post season. If they miss a turn or two, we have Ace and Webster to take spot starts. In the playoffs, you don't need a #5, maybe not even a #4. Getting an ace for the playoffs wouldn't hurt if Lester continues to be inconsistent, but I don't think we can get Lee, and Garza and others are not upgrades. I think a hitter might be the better move.
  14. I have no problem with Doubront's performance in the 5th hole.
  15. That's why it is called buying and not stealing. You buy to push your team over the top. That's when you do it.
  16. Wait for it? I hate that phrase.
  17. Next up is the west coast and a week of sleep deprivation.
  18. This hits the nail on the head with regard to the pitching need. If we don't need pitching, we should make a move for a big bat. When you have a team that can make a run at the championship, IMO you load for bear and go for it. We haven't been to the playoffs in 3 seasons. You don't have this kind of team every year. When you have a team like this, you need to reinforce it to give it the best shot at winning. If we don't add, our competitors will add to their teams. When you have a team like this, that is when you buy at the trading deadline.
  19. Even if it gives the team what it needs to make a run at a Championship?
  20. Ortiz needs to make this game Bailey-proof
  21. Webster did his job today. He still gives up way too many walks. 4 walks in 6 innings is living dangerously. He kept us in the game and bent but didn't break today, but he's not going to knock anyone out of the rotation yet.
  22. Iggy has proved himself to be a dangerous bunter.
