  1. Doubs has pitched some of his best games against the Yanks. Hopefully, we batter Pettitte closer to retirement.
  2. I am not advocating for Ben to get Young, but if he does, I wouldn't have a big problem with it. He's definitely an upgrade over Drew with the bat.
  3. Drew is stinking up the place with his bat. I think Young would do much better. I'd slide Iggy to SS (an upgrade defensively) and bench Drew. I think it would be an upgrade offensively also.
  4. I found this with a little more information. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1709194-clay-buchholz-injury-setback-underscores-red-sox-biggest-trade-deadline-need and this http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/9490303/clay-buchholz-boston-red-sox-scratches-bullpen-session-due-lingering-soreness
  5. I just found the blurb that I quoted on CBS Sportsline Fantasy. It's short, but it doesn't sound encouraging.
  6. It's worse than just not throwing. he needs to be examined again.
  7. Young is real pro. He's a tough out, and he'll do a representative job anywhere in the infield. You'll never see him shotput a throw into RF on a ball that should have ended a game. If the Phillies are looking to dump him cheap, we could do a lot worse.
  8. It looks like Lars has come to the end of the road.
  9. He's in the top hundred, but his progression has hit a big road bump.
  10. Yep, I think you did it right in your signature. LOL!!!
  11. You threw him under the bus big time. You have no bragging rights on this one.
  12. Did you read or hear this from a media source?
  13. A waste of time. After the top 10, put them in a bowl and pick out names.
  14. Try to keep up.
  15. 5-- Bogaerts, Bradley, Cecchini, Renaudo, and Owens
  16. I think he will play this season, and probably soon. I am just guessing that they can only rehab him for another week before they have to bring him up.
  17. The Marlins payroll is about 3 cents and they have some good young players. That is the way they like it. I don't expect that they will be active in the market at the trading deadline.
  18. I heard a report this morning that that any PED suspensions that are handed down are probably going to be served next season.
  19. True. That was a possibility.
  20. That's really messed up. I have been tuning in and out. After Mo got the 3rd out, I turned off the TV assuming it was the end of the game.
  21. The Docs did tell him that he couldn't injure it worse by pitching. Draw your own conclusions. And then there is this:
  22. Harvey is the real deal. He has a great chance to be their next Seaver --45 years after he broke in and 30 years after he threw his last pitch for the Mets. I thought Gooden would take the mantle, but he flamed out fast from drugs.
  23. Well, his season is down the drain. He can come bck and really help the Sox make a major push through the playoffs, but his season is kind of shot. He'll put up around 140 innings if he is lucky-- not the kind of season that an ace stud has. I am not concerned that his season got screwed up as long as we can get him back fully healthy for the stretch drive and the palyoffs.
  24. We don't know that, but in light of past experience (i.e., Beckett 2008) the concern is valid. Any injury concern regarding Buchholz is valid at this point. He has not been very durable in his short career having experienced a mystery broken back and now a sleep induced neck, clavicle issue.
