  1. Gardy goes Yardy. I called you out for that? How so? I think you are getting a paranoid. Do you miss my pm's? You keep bringing it up, but I think that I probably pm'd you last about 3 yrs ago to take an argument off-line and try to make peace. Did you frame it? LOL!! BTW, look back at what I posted to you here in this thread tonight, and you might realize that I am just poking some fun, not even trying to be insulting. You are spewing venom all over the place. Calm down.
  2. If you had balls, you could be the King! LOL!
  3. I add nothing... right.
  4. Lighten up, lady. LOL!
  5. You should be impeached as nicest TS member. LOL!!
  6. Tsk tsk arguing with and cussing at children.
  7. As Tito used to say, the game started getting fast. Maybe Farrell can't keep up.
  8. He should be in 5 of the 6 games, not 3 of 6.
  9. Could have rested Ortiz over the weekend against one of the Dodger lefties.
  10. Clairborne and Logan have been good too.
  11. Robertson is pretty good.
  12. I am not seeing the big advantage to us when comparing those 3. When Buch comes back, he will matchup with Kuroda. Until then, their rotation has the advantage.
  13. I am not over reacting at all, but I am cognizant of the fact that they are at a cross roads right now. They added Peavy. He will help. Getting Buch back will be huge and it should stem the bleeding if he returns to form. They could very well go on a run. If Buch doesn't help anchor our staff down the stretch, the wheels could come off this bus. Only time will tell if this is a speed bump, a blown tire or whether the wheels are coming off. I remain hopeful. This team is resilient and has come up big when they have been on the downturn.
  14. Neither is Dempster or Dubront. Lester has been on a good run, but he has been very inconsistent over the course of the season. Our 3 are marginally better than those 3.
  15. LOL!! That streak did not make me think the Jays would threaten for the Division. I don't know why people think that. I said that I thought they would have a say in the Division -- as a spoiler if nothing else. I still think that they can play that role much the same way the O's did a few years in a row. BTW, I am not the one that threw in the towel on them and dropped my signature after one game.
  16. Over-hyped prospect. Should have traded him while we had the chance.
  17. 8-2 is a good run in their last 10. They picked up 4 games very fast. You fail to mention that Kuroda gets run out there every 5 days too. He has had very very few bad games this season. We have no one like that unless Buch comes back and returns to pre- injury form.
  18. I realize that, so at about game time Farrell knew that we would be facing lefties in 3 of the next 4 games. How much prep does Ortiz need to take 4 ABs and play first base? And even if the scratch happened after the game, he knew going into last night that there would be 2 lefties over the weekend. I will be livid if Ortiz sits for another game on this trip. He is our offensive centerpiece. Without him, we are a collection of popguns. Farrell did tell the ESPN bunch that he would "try" to get Ortiz into 3 games on this trip. That is just not very smart.
  19. This is what happens to over-performing teams in August. The dog days set in and the men separate from the boys when the going gets tough. This Red Sox team had outperformed everyone's expectations, so this bump should have been expected. To the credit of the FO, they saw the opportunity to make a big post season run and they reinforced the team with a pretty good starting pitcher. They did not stand pat and try to make do with what they had. I would have liked to add a RH to protect Ortiz, because the lineup around him is not very good at all. The team has blown a tire. If Buchholz comes back by September 1st, they can fix it and back in the fast lane. If not, or if he just doesn't have it when he comes back, the wheels could fall off this bus.
  20. I am not sure why Ortiz was sitting against a RH pitcher last night when we will be facing lefties in 3 of the next 4 games.
  21. Yes SFF that is a good point about Posey being the batter, but I don't think that it was a completely silly notion. Eck raised it as a possibility in the booth. I think the odds were better to get Posey out or walk him without scoring a run than for Victorino to throw the plate. If Taz gets out of that without the run scoring, Koji pitches the 9th and we put a game in the W column. As it turned out, catching the ball did not work out last night.
  22. I was screaming "No" at the TV on that play. I was hoping that Victorino would let it fall foul and take another shot at getting the batter out without the run scoring. It reminded me of a play years back against Tampa when J.D. caught a long foul fly and either the tying or winning run scored. We are 2 games down in the loss column, and don't look now, but the Yankees are only 5 games back in the loss column and Dumpster helped galvanize them and inject them with renewed energy.
