  1. Four innings and 1 hit -- by Ortiz of course.
  2. Clay took an axe to this game and ended it early.
  3. A defensive upgrade, but only a slight offensive downgrade.
  4. Farrell, get Buch out of the game. He doesn't have it today.
  5. The best hitters hit at the top of the lineup. If he stays hot, let him be hot and provide prouction in the bottom half of the lineup. Like I said in my earlier post, at least farrell didn't bat Holt between Pedroia and Papi. That would be much worse.
  6. I am very much opposed to the notion of lenthening the batting order by putting an inferior hitter in the top of the lineup. It is a pet peeve of mine. I am a firm believer that your best hitters should be clustered at the top of the lineup. At least Farrell didn't put Holt between Pedroia and Papi. I really don't like when managers do that.
  7. Holt leading off. Gagging.
  8. Last night's game was the first time this season that the team demonstrated that 2013 comeback ability.
  9. When Victorino comes back, I am hoping that Nava goes to AAA if he has an option left. Bradley brings more to the table at this point. He's an excellent fielder with a strong arm who can play all 3 OF positions, and he runs better than Nava. If Nava is out of options, Bradley will go down, and Nava will get another couple of weeks to turn around his hitting.
  10. AJ was a stopgap signing. He's not a problem. He calls a good game and can toss out baserunners. His OBP is not that high but he does put the ball in play which is a change of pace from all of Salty's futile k's with men in scoring position.
  11. Crazy end to the game. It's nice to put games like this in the win column.
  12. get a ball deep to the OF Naps!
  13. If the idiot fan didn't interfere, it would have hit the ledge.
  14. That was a HR. Hopefully, the umps get it right.
  15. Bench players should be able to run, throw and play a couple of different position. Hitting from a bench player is a luxury. The other skills are a necessity. Nava had an extraordinary OBP. Without that, he is a zero.
  16. Showalter was patting himself on the back for his genius in gamesmanship for outsmarting farrell. The beauty of baseball is that brains has little to do with success. Many stupid people have been good managers.
  17. The O's have tried tried to give us this game. Let's not give it back.
  18. O's are trying their hardest to give us this game.
  19. Yep, A DP will be a killer here after not sending the runner.
  20. Big break there unless they reverse it.
  21. Koji throwing strikes and getting saves. Nice win.
  22. Swinging k on 86 mph heat. Amazing.
  23. Koji walked a guy? I am not used to that.
