  1. I thinkhe had as much a claim to it as Papelbon did to the 07 ball
  2. well, at least Doug kept his safe.
  3. doesn't sound like Buster was too happy with Mitchell. http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3157032&name=olney_buster&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab3pos2&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fespn%2fblog%2findex%3fentryID%3d3157032%26name%3dolney_buster%26lpos%3dspotlight%26lid%3dtab3pos2
  4. was listening to radio and Frank Thomas name was mentioned as the only one who cooperated besides Giambino
  5. for some reason I can picture andy not coming forward with this thing earlier because of how bad it would look for Roger.
  6. I see, so you're willing to accept the Mitchell report at face value when it says these Yankees were juicing but not willing to accept the timeline that the report lays out? no, not too biased there.
  7. you're being silly. the report says itself that Roger and maybe Justice was the only one who was doing it before 2000. If you go back and take a look at ROger's postseason stats, and can make a case on how his PED's helped us in the playoffs, then we can talk about tainted championships.
  8. man i wish he had just come out and said this when the first allegations came out. his name is the only one that really makes me sad. pro wrestlign is fake, optimus prime got killed, and now this...
  9. sounds like he'll always deny it. bonds has the physical evidence but the trainer won't flip on him clemens trainer flipped, but they don't got the physical evidence makes yo wonder when they'll get someone with the physical evidence and a flipping trainer
  10. hemm true still though, with all those minor league teams, I'ms ure there would have been a few employees who were either unhappy or perhaps disgusted at the behavior of some professional atheletes.
  11. well not that open minded ...I'm still digesting Andy's name being in there when you consider the denials he's made in the past (wait were they specific denials of drug use? or denials of positive tests a la Clemens yesterday?). This guy embodies every single good trait that I thought a professional athelete should have when I first started watching sports over 20 years ago. I'm going to say this and I hope you guys don't laugh, but hearing Andy's name in this report is about as devastating as when I found ou that pro wrestling was fake
  12. man where do you think Star and US Weekly gets their sources from? people with dream jobs of working with celebrities sides I've seen ESPN's Playmakers, those clubhouse attendants didn't lok like they had fun doing the laundry for the players (yes yes it's a show, I added this comment for comic relief...please see prior sentence for real reply)
  13. well see thats what I want to know. Did he attempt to talk to the employees who work in the clubhouse? Did he ask the groundskeepers? How about the guy who takes out the trash? Why spend the time talking to GMs but not the administrative employees or former employees? Who is going to be in more CYA mode and who will be more likely to divulge things? I think that transparency is necessary on those kinds of things.
  14. Clemens and A-Rod are really the same IMO. Both phonies, and one of those people that just makes you very uncomfortable to root for if he's wearing your uni. It astounds me that this man continues to get contracts from people despite everything.
  15. I'm just going by what the report is saying about the people on here. Though I have a problem with things not included on this report, I don't doubt the authenticity of its contents.
  16. My issue is that the Red Sox players on the list did not play a prominent role during their time with the Sox or were not juicing while with the Sox, whereas people like Petite, Clemens, Chuck, Stanton, and Justice satisfy either category.
  17. read the report first before bagging on the 1996-2000 teams. Except for Roger and possibly David Justice, everyone else pretty much started after 2000.
  18. Of course I was ok with the list until it came out. I only started complaining after I saw what looked like unbalanced effort aimed away from the Sox. I had worries about Mitchell from the beginning but figured he would be able to do things impartially, the list made me feel not so comfortable with that line of thought. oh and where do I say it was deliberate? show me the post and I'll gladly cede your points. because I ask how many red sox players are on the list, suddenly I'm suggesting it's deliberate? that's just wrong. If you seriously think there's a similarity between me questioning how hard Mithcell loked at his own backyard and your comments about me taking sponge baths and being a backpedaler, then I don't think we are going to accomplish much by continuing this discussion. You contribute a lot to the site and I always find most of your posts well thought out, but you have a history of abrasive behavior and can be quite prickly if even one word offends you in some way from a post. I don't mind it usually and am actually quite used to it, but being called a backpedaler when I'm simply trying to calm things down by taking a conciliatory approach is not something that I can just ignore.
  19. name one current red sox on the list.
  20. I do want to echo 26 to 6's comments BTW. As a Yankee fan I am supremely ashamed of the amount of cheaters we've had on our teams in the past.
