    you would be right. I'm just praying for a last place finish at this point so we can rip up this stupid buy everyone aat every price mentality and work on what got us those championships, namely developing a core from within, retaining them, and then sign complementary FAs. Instead my team is in the other direction, where we built our core from FAs and got complementary players from within. There are a few exceptions like Wang and Cano, but it pisses me off to no end to see it. Cash is reversing that trend, but its gonna take a while to fix the mistakes of the last 6 years.

    congrats on the trade. gagne and Okajima give you guys the best setup combo in the business. If your starting pitching ever decides to stop throwing batting practice, you'll be odds-on favorites to rep the AL.

    he really didn't look that impressive. his stuff didn't stand out and at best I thought he would be a #5 guy, or maybe middle relief guy. its too bad, after reading some scouting reports, i really was expecting much better.

    Speaking as a dog owner, I find the entire dogfighting thing to be subhuman. Vick's argument that he had no clue what was going on for whatever years at that place just reeks. I think at minimum, he knew and participated as a betting spectator, and at worst, actively participated in the breeding, training, slaughtering, and disposal of the poor dogs.

    I've heard from a couple of places that if Chamberlain comes up, it will be as a late inning reliever. I honestly was never that high on Clippard to begin with, he reminded me a lot of the Wade Taylor days.

    Actually, the '03 Roayls had a higher BA than the Yanks and scored only 41 less runs than we did. Overall we had a better team because of our pitching, but offensively, the Royals were much closer to us. Matsui was much more integral to our offense than a lot of people realize. I dont know where Berroa was batting in the lneup but I know Matsui picked up his RBIs in the 6th or 7th spot most of the time. in terms of Team Stats BA: Matsui (3rd), Berroa (4th) HR: Matsui (4th), Berroa (3rd) RBI: Matsui (2nd - 1 RBI behind Giambi), Berroa (4th)

    Will you consider him to be the real single season HR record holder? I remember this came up last year when Pujols was absolutely filthy in April. I think ARod has a decent chance to do it considering the disgusting pace he's been on.
