He Hate Me

Joba's K's are from what I can recall mainly swinging strikes on his slider. I think I've seen maybe one or two looking 3rd strikes. He has good command of the fastball, but like most young flammethrowers, he has shown a tendency to overthrow it at times. As for the rest, I think the intent on the first pitch was to bust him high and tight off the plate since Youk is as bad as Jeter when it comes to crowding the inside. I can see why people would think there was intent in the second pitch, but definetely not in the first pitch. In any case, Youkilis said it best, only Joba knows if there was any intent or not. I think Torre will definetely address the second pitch with Joba though. Francona's comments just struck me as sort of juvenile. Obviously he was hinting at something. BTW If any Yankee players called Pedro or whoever was the headhunter du jour on the Sox a "f'n cu*t", I'm pretty sure RSN would have been all over that.

1. hasn't there been a number of sox fans who have dissed Joba's command in the first place saying that it's not that good? 2. pray tell what message was he trying to send him? Did Youk do something to piss off the Yanks? Because I certainly didn't see it. He had no motive to go head hunting. 3. is it absolutely out of the realm of possibility that he might have been juiced up since a) he has only pithced 10 innings in the big leagues? and this was his FIRST potential save which came in a big spot against our biggest rivals? for the record when Sox pitchers were hitting our hitters like crazy I don't remember any Sox player being called a f'n c*nt by a Yankee or Joe Torre saying something as juvenile as Fracona's comments about getting our attention. Maybe focus a bit more on the lack of offense and less on the questionable actions of a 21 year old? BTW, if Joba was trying to send a message to Youk. he should be pulled aside and given a sound thrashing. There was absolutely no need for it at all (assuming it was done intentionally)

I'm a big fan of CMW but Petite's been lights out when we needed him most. CMW might own the most wins on the club but it's obvious to me that Andy gets the game ball when you need the win the most.

I think Abreu's option will be picked up and that they'll try to ship off Johnny somewhere next season. However, I think the brass really needs to have a sitdown with Bobby because quite frankly I think the way he loafs it sometimes is having a bad effect on Cano and Cabrera.

I'm ok with the admiring thing, as long as Ortiz doesn't complain when he gets dusted or catches one in the ribs. I'm not cool with getting hit in the head, I think something intentionally done like that deserves a godo swift beating. Anyway, Ortiz admired his HR, I really don't care for the reason. He's frustrated, he hit a nice one, etc. It's part of the game. If he wants to admire it, go ahead, long as I don't have to hear him or anyone else complain when he gets dusted or catches one in the ribs as part of payback.

I had no idea he was having such a decent year for the A's. Outside of 2 or 3 outings, he's been a nice guy in the 3 or 4 spot. Was it because there was no room in the rotation for him that the Sox dumped him?

balls that get by a fielder (whether routine or spectacular)are still balls that get by a fielder . Cano's walks has gone up every year in the bigs and I expect that number to rise. As a small sampling size he actually walked 3 times in a game couple of games ago. Its seeing things like that which gives me hope for his continued improvement and development as a premier hitter. Dustin's having a fine year though, and 24 doubles are nothing to sneeze at. I just think that when you take into account how many 2B can hit like Cano, that gives him the edge IMO. I wouldn't be disappointed at all with Dustin though

btw how is it that a man as small as Pedroia has so few steals? is he that slow? Cano sometimes has trouble with the routine plays, and he did have a focus issue early on this year IMO. I'd take him over Dustin because while Pedroia has a chance to be a consistent .310 Avg, .400 OPS guy (which is excellent). I see Cano as eventually developing 30 HR power, and perennial batting champ contender, all the while improviing his OBP every year.

Sorry but that is just completely silly to say he struggled this year. He averages almost 7IP per start and has had only 3 starts where he gave up more than 4, and 2 starts where he lasted less than 6 innings. So that 3.94 ERA is consistent with his pitching this year. To say his numbers are because of a few good outings is just wrong.

I think poetic justice would be sending him down to the minors and forcing him to WALK to Staten Island.

man, its so sad that he wont be able to age with dignity. I've heard about dementia and alzheimers and how it really tears some families up cuz of it

Farnsworth is just throwing garbage at this point. I don't know why the hell Torre consistently puts this guy in anything less than a blowout. I think any of the kids in AAA could do better than Kyle "2-0" Farnsworth.
