  1. Abreu hitting 3rd might actually be a good idea, only because he gets on base a lot, letting papi hit him in, and Burrell as protection, however, IMO, Ortiz is a better hitter, who has adjusted to whatever AL managers/pitchers have thrown at him.
  2. Well, Abreu and Burrell will both gain some power hitting in Fenway Park, especially Pat Burrell, who is a dead LF Homerun hitter if you can see his hit chart at MLB.com.
  3. Idk what do you guys think, Soriano or Abreu and Burrell, IMO I'd want tot alk with the Phillies more.
  4. If we needed to we could also throw in Youkilis since Burrell would play 1st 1) damon 2) renteria 3) ortiz 4) abreu 5) burrell 6) lowell 7) varitek 8) youkilis 9) pedroia/cora that is a very solid lineup 1-9, if Pedroia can hit in the Majors. It is also a very good defensive team, Abreu udgrades over Manny (defensively), Lowell over Mueller, Youkilis over Millar, Pedroia/Cora equal to Graffy.
  5. There have also been talks of a Manny- Soriano trade going on which in my mind doesn't make sense, because Pedroia is coming up. Even so, if we were to move him to LF like they say, i think he'd have a lot of trouble out tehre defensively, especially with the wall.
  6. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2005/12/04/going_over_the_lineups/ I would not mind at all if the Sox went after RH Scott Linebrink or LF J.C. Romero, he's actually pretty solid and would tehrefor fill up our bullpen with potential closers and future stars. Another interesting choice for the rotation is Jason Marquis, he seems like he can handle AL lineups a bit and is still young, and he is available, that is if we don't get Zito.
  7. My bad, I meant relief, of course they'd want starting pitching, but idk if they'd go for Alvarez
  8. Anything is scary when you got Jason varitek batting 9th, jesus that is one stacked lineup, with absolutely no holes what so ever
  9. I don't think they'd want pitching honestly, they have STreet as their future closer along with the other guy. If anything they may demand for Moss, or someoen one like that, who I would certainly give up.
  10. The whole point of it is that Mientkiewicz has no business owning that ball. he SNEAKED it out of the clubhouse via wife and basically did what he knew, if he was a Boston fan, was WAY wrong. I mean we wait 86 years for it to happen, and a mid-season acquisition takes it? It would be kind of wierd if in a few years he still has the ball. He already makes millions of dollars per year, and he said he's using this money for "college fund" for his f***in kid, I'm tellin ya, tha kid better cure cancer.
  11. Im jokin relax lol, of course's he's a great pickup just every NL pitcher that has come to the AL East has seemded to eitehr suddenly get injured or been injured and get injured again
  12. Good signing, much better than getting Gordon back, hopefully he'll injure himself like the other Yankee NL pitchers, but good signing.
  13. i like the trade elsrbueno thought of and it seems like the Phillies arent getting a lot inr eturn, but if anything I would add Shoppach and Stern maybe.
  14. I would at least give him a shot to prove himself and get more value so some he can go back to the West Coast where he loves.
  15. espn also said the colts would kill the patriots in the playoffs last year, it doesn't confirm anything if 1 guy says something, I for one would love to have him start at secodnd, even for half a year until Pedroia is ready.
  16. he sounds solid and is only 25, yet tor each his peak. If he does good that'll be 2 in a row for the Sox w/o theo. What are his splits?
  17. Even if they did include Milledge, who IMO is going to be something special, it wouldn't be enough to satisfy me, not for the best RH hitter in the American League.
  18. Jesus, either he thinks Giles can last 5 more years or he wants to inflate what the Sox will have to offer to Damon, I mean it's already off to a bad start.
  19. Yea, i totally agree on Gordon, and if Foulke goes down, Idk if I would choose Gordon over Mota, Timlin, and possibley Hansen.
  20. I know what your tryin to say but you gotta admit Theo did an excellent job drafting and really gave us the ability to get beckett by keeping Hanley Ramirez after many offers, and now we're lookin at a big three of the future in Beckett, lester, and Papy. On the subject, getting Tracy hasn't been deemed out of the question, in fact on ESPN when talking about the Beckett trade, and what that means for Youkilis, they said we were looking at Overbay, Gonzalez and Tracy.
  21. Like half of the people from NY are Yankees fans, and only half of those are true Yankee fans, they all just like em becuase of "represent" or "16 rings". Thats why I appreciate almost all the Yankee fans here, mostly.
  22. Yea, he sed it was something about throwing out ideas?
  23. Idk if I'd want vazquez but the rest sounds good, imagine that future rotation that would be nasty Beckett Lester Papelbon Santana Fill in the Blank I smile at the thought of that, 4 young guns destined for stardom in Boston, that is one hell of a rotation, like the A's Big 3 plus Santana.
  24. see the Manny wants to be traded thread, and youll see my response to that, this guy makes no sense, whatsoever
