  1. I prefer this then giving Gordon 3 years. There is still alot of work to be done.
  2. he also played in Wrigley Field the majority of his career. I blame the "overpaying for relievers" on the Cubs and Blue Jays. They both set the market giving Scott Eyre the money he got and giving BJ Ryan a 5 year deal.
  3. Why are the Yankees even thinking about this? Its a no brainer IMO. Proctor isnt good and Henn isnt a great prospect.
  4. From what I heard Gordon is looking for a 3 year deal and he wants to be a closer. IMO I wouldnt give him any 3 year deal. I've watched this guy for 2 years now and he was dominate in 2004 but he took a step back in 2005. His velocity dipped and he also complained of arm problems throughout the year. That said if he would take a 2 year deal I would give it too him, but 3 years? I'll pass.
  5. There is a rumor floating around that the Yankees signed Kyle Farnsworth to a 3 year 17 mill deal.
  6. Thanks for the list.
  7. Scott Proctor has a great arm but lefties eat him for lunch. If they wanted to maximize Scptt Proctor they would work on another pitch besides his fastball to get lefties out or just have him face righties who hit 217 off of him.
  8. Sfoc picked 45 first so its his. I looked back an I didnt see either 42 or 45. I think I need glasses.
  9. sfoc informed me of that. I'll go with 45 then
  10. If we lose Gordon we get a 1st rounder right? I'm not sure if hes a type A player.
  11. Strahan was also celebrating after the last FG that Feeley missed. What the hell were these guys watching?
  12. What I did last season was buy 2 of those fuji flim packages. It was like 6 games for 80 bucks in the tire reserve section. It was worth it. I got tickets to the Red Sox/Mets/Cubs/Pirates/Tigers and D-Rays games. I ended up going to about 12 games for 170 bucks. You gotta look for the deals on Yankees.com
  13. The bottomline is you gave up 2 pretty good prospects and a good CF for a 35 year old 1st basemen with a bad back. You dont even know if Thome can play. Pat Gillick is doing hand stands right now. You could have gotten more then just Thome for that package. s*** Delgado is better and the Mets gave up less then what you guys gave up for Thome. Just a bad trade for the White Sox.
  14. Jim Thome - 1B - Phillies The Phillies will get Aaron Rowand and two prospects for Jim Thome, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. They're expected to pay slightly more than half the $46 million the first baseman is still owed. Radio reports indicates the two prospects are pitchers Daniel Haigwood and Gio Gonzalez, which makes an already shaky trade a potential terrible one. Both Haigwood and Gonzalez are among the White Sox's top 10 prospects. Thome has agreed to waive his no-trade clause to join the White Sox. The deal is contingent on Thome passing a physical Friday in Chicago. Nov. 23 - 4:50 pm et Source: Philadelphia Inquirer I cant believe the White Sox gave up not only Rowand but 2 top specs for Thome. Are you kidding me? Rotoworld.com btw
  15. I just dont like the age and injury history.
  16. and even if they have given up they should have gone after Delgado then because Thome is the last person I would want.
  17. I just heard that on ESPNEWS. Maybe its just me but what are the White Sox thinking? Thome has horrible back problems. I also think hes done.
  18. I agree with him also. The only problem with that is its November 23. We arent even at the Winter Meetings yet. Its a bit early to be boasting about being slightly better then a team in November.
  19. The Mariners wouldnt trade Felix Hernandez for God himself.
  20. Yeah I mean its only November 23rd. We are not even at the Winter Meetings yet.
  21. The funny thing is Vazquez (at 27) before coming to the Yankees in 2004 had a GREAT year in 2003. In fact it was better then any season Beckett has ever had. So you cant just call him trash previous to the 2004 season. I will repeat what I said in the thread before. Its a good trade if he stays healthy and health is a major question mark with him. If your telling me 9 trips to the DL in 4 seasons doesnt concern you then you are kidding yourself.
  22. The Red Sox move for Beckett was a no brainer. This is no "major move" out there for the Yankees to make really. The only one I can think of is signing Damon away from the Red Sox but his asking price is like 7 years 80 mill some s*** like that. You would have to be insane to give him that. IDK, With the weak FA class that is out there and the Yankees unwilling to trade any good prospects(which is a good thing) there just isnt much out there to do. At this point I would continue to try and bring Gordon back for 2 years. If he wants that 3rd year let him go. (assuming you cant get Howry or Ryan) If I were Cashman I would be on the phone with the Marlins trying to get Mota from them. They are in a fire sale so they would move him. If you cant get Mota give Tavarez a call(not a fan at all really). I would also make Matt Smith the loogy. I could see J. Brent Cox becoming a big part of this pen mid way through the season because I dont see any major improvment on the way. When it comes to CF I dont know what to do. That is a question mark at this point.
  23. If Beckett stays healthy its a great trade for the Red Sox. That is a big IF though because he never has. I will say one thing.....he is a guy that DOES NOT scare. If you watched him during the 03 playoffs you know.
  24. I recived my gift also. You are certainly a generous human being as Greenwall said. Thanks
