  1. I think the signing is good but it was a bit too much money for him. He's a good bench player but he's not worth 2 million a year.
  2. Wow another crazy contract. What is with this spending spree in the offseason. Guys are really getting way too much money I mean common Pierre is getting 40 million more then he should be. The guy is worth 5-7 million not 45 Million. Seems like teams are just signing players for whatever ridiculous amounts of money they request. What's next is Barry Zito going to get a 1 year 400 million dollar contract.
  3. The guy deserved the award. He had an amazing season. Now onto the A.L MVP.
  4. Ridiculous contract. 8 Year deal worth 17 million a year is way too much money. I was surprised he would sign with a team like the Cubs for that long though. Either way this contract is crazy and worth way too much money.
  5. LOL. It's sad but true man this city is too obsesed with the Maple Leafs. Anyways Justin Speier isn't a bad reliever he is actually pretty good and he would be a great addition to the bullpen he may not be a closer but he would be a great setup guy for whoever the Sox do have as a closer. Maybe trade for Brad Lidge which I really wouldn't mind seeing. Either way Speier is a guy the Sox need to pursue and add to the pen.
  6. Too bad the Sox don't still have Hanley we all knew he was going to be a solid major league SS oneday. I don't think he's done with the hardware the guy is going to have more awards in his future if he continues to play the way he has been.
  7. Surprising pick to win the Cy Young but the guy does deserve to get it he had a great year.
  8. So I guess we have to wait another day to learn who won the bid on Matsukaza. I am crossing my fingers and praying that the Red Sox won the bid for this guy. He would be a GREAT pickup for the Sox. Please oh Please let the Sox win this.
  9. To me it was kind of a dumb move on San Deigo's part. Who is going to fill in at Second. Walker isn't great anymore and neither is Bellhorn. Barfield was much better than both of those guys.
  10. Foulke will most likely be back. He isn't going to turn down that amount of money to pitch next year. I think he will be back next season but beyond that we aren't going to see Keith Foulke in a Red Sox uniform.
  11. MLB.TV replays them on demand I believe u can choose to rewatch it at any time.
  12. I dunno if anyone is actually paying attention to this or watching it but I have a big interest in this whole thing. It's kinda kool to see some of the best Japanese ball players go up against the guys in the majors. Ive been watching this thing since about 1996 and havent missed a year yet. I think it's a great way to promote the game overseas as well. They need to expand this though into the European countries maybe. Also I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a Boxscore for last nights game so I can see who was in the game on the mound and how they did. I missed all of the game cause I had to go to work where I currently am and they don't seem to have a Boxscore anywhere on the internet.
  13. Sox still have the best minor league system as far as I'm concerned I mean common you have guys like Pauley, Ellisbury, Spann, Brown and I can't wait to see guys like Kotarras and Josh Papelbon play. One thing that was dissapoting though was seeing the Sox send Stern to Baltimore for Javy Lopez yes I understand the Stern was injured and struggling alot but I still like the guy and I had faith that he was gonna turn it all around eventually. But still now the one guy im looking forward to seeing play is Kotarras. Is Kotarras going to be playign for Pawtucket next year or will he still be with the Portland Sea Dogs.?
  14. Yea but that's not the first time that hes had crap on his hands he had it in the LDS and the LCS as well just noone ever said anything until Larussa spoke up. And Selig isn't going to say anything about it, he doesn't want accusations of cheating going on in the World Series and just put a bad name on baseball. Rogers is a bum and he always has been.
  15. Kenny Rogers is the biggest cheater I have ever seen he's been using stuff all playoffs. He doesn't even deserve to pitch in the postseason. It's a good thing that I'm not the commissioner of baseball because Rogers would be gone from the playoffs and fined a big sum of money. Even though this happens on a regular basis they need to have harsher penalties for the guys who choose to do it. They shouldn't be gettin away with it this kinda crap is what ruins the games. Rogers just further proves to us all that he is a bumm and always will be.
  16. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/whitesox/108273,CST-SPT-sox24.article According to this Article the White Sox are pushing to get A-Rod. I Can't really see it happening though due to Joe Crede. If the Sox were to get A-Rod then what would they do with Crede as of right now it seems like his job is pretty safe. He's been one of their better players for awhile. Then again who knows what could happen we have seen some crazy things go on in the trade market. Only tell will tell what happens with A-Rod.
  17. Pauley has been shaky in the AFL. He hasn't had great command and he seems like he has no confidence or something. The way he is pitching right now, he's going to be spending alot more time in the minors.
  18. Cards got to Verlander early to score 2 runs. And now in the 5th they have another man on with one out. Carpenter is looking strong in this one if he keeps it up St Louis will take this one easily.
  19. It's a decent signing. Got him at a price that wasn't too bad. Even though he had a terrible August and September the Sox can still use him outta the pen. Prolly won't see him outta the pen as late into the game though. Plus it's going to be his last year anyways he's most likely gonna retire at the end of the year. I'll glady welcome Timlin back to the Sox for another year.
  20. Not really surprised that St Louis took Game 1. Detroit has been sitting for a week and St Louis was just coming off a win the day before they had momentum, Detroit sat too long. But as you see tonight Detroit is up 2-0 into the bottom of the 3rd and so far Kenny Rogers has pitched well. Even though it's early Detroit will win this game tonight, they are just too good for St Louis to handle.
  21. No doubt the Sox need to make some serious changes on their team if they want to contend next year and make the playoffs. But as of right now it's way to early to say what they will do next year. I mean who would have thought last year that the Tigers would be in the World Series this season.
  22. Have to go with the Tigers in 6 I don't think the Cards are just going to roll over like in 2004. I think they will put up a fight of some sort but still come short in the series. Tigers are just too good of a team, for the Cardinals to compete with. Detroit has way too many solid starters.
  23. Not surprised. The Mets simply just chocked this year. They should have easily put away St Louis they were 15 wins better than the Cardinals and still failed to beat them. But that is what happens when you face a team who's pitcher come through when they need to. Don't get me wrong the Mets pitched well too but the Cardinals did something the Mets couldn't do and that was take advantage of the mistakes that were made. There is no reason why a team like the Mets couldn't get any runs in the 6th when they had the bases loaded and 0 out. It was just a complete collapse by the Mets and they didn't deserve to win this series.
