  1. Cleveland can have Foulke we at least get a pick out of it. The guy is nothing special anyways it's not going to hurt the Boston bullpen any not having him there. We could more than likely bring someone up from the minors who would do better than Foulke would. What's the situation on the closer for next year.? Are the Sox going to use someone in the Pen already as a closer or are they going to go out and Sign someone or make a trade. I have heard rumblings about Gagne and Borowski being possible targets but that was a while ago I haven't heard anything new in regards to it. I was wondering if anyone knew anymore on the whole thing?
  2. Aside from Reyes there isn't anyone who thought that Igawa was a great pitcher. I mean who knows we haven't seen him pitch in the big leagues. But If big league hitters don't think he's anything special then he's probobley going to be a flop when he comes into the MLB. Yankees paid way to much to talk to this guy that is for sure. I would have bid 5 Million at the most for this guy even that is too much.
  3. Great to hear the the Sox could end up with Drew and nice to hear that it's a decent contract at 4 years. If the guy stays healthy it will be a great addition for the Sox. And this Friday is payday for me so I'll be going down to the Rogers Centre to buy advanced tickets for all the games the Sox are in town this year. As for the whole Lugo thing I've heard that the Sox have made an offer to Lugo. The Sox seem to be keeping the whole situation with Julio Lugo quiet as opposed to J.D Drew so who knows the Sox might be closer to signing Lugo than we think.
  4. Never seen the guy pitch but I was looking into it and he doesn't look that bad on paper at least. We will have to wait and see if the Sox do sign the guy what he can really do.
  5. The Cubs are going to give teams in the Central a run for their money. They keep on signing guys and it doesn't seem like they are going to stop either.
  6. Baltimore is really active on the pitching front. But it's not going to help them any. They are still going to suck next year.
  7. I agree with most of them except the one on Mark Mulder I see him playing out West somewhere. I doubt he'll be in the A.L East.
  8. Wow that's alot of money for this guy. He's a number 5 guy at best. This make the Matsukaza thing look like a steal for the Sox.
  9. And I suppose Brian Cashman is so much better. He has gone out in the last few year and got how many superstar players and it has got him nowhere. The Yankees just end up chockin in the longrun. He got A-Rod who is apparentley the best SS in the game. But when it comes to playoff time he can't hit a ball if his life depends on it and people call him the best. Usually when you are the best you hit baseballs not miss them. I would rather have Theo as our GM than any other guy out there. Theo is the reason this team won the World Series and has been able to compete on a year to year basis. He knows how to make deals and he is a smart baseball guy. Now he could end up with the best pitcher in baseball and people still doubt him. I just don't get it. Then again you are a Yankee fans which explains everything. Jealousy anyone?.
  10. Well the Sox have sent another offer to Boras and Matsukaza and let's hope this time it's the right one and the Sox get this deal done. I mean common Boras knows this guy is dying to play in the big leagues so just come to terms with the Sox already and stop stalling the whole thing it's getting annoying. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/article.jsp?content=20061128_094358_5840
  11. LOL hey I can hope can't I. I know Dinardo won't be a starter next year but I would like to see him starting. What are the chances that Jon Lester will be back next year and in the starting rotation.?
  12. I just read this on ESPN. It's pretty interesting and were gonna have to wait and see what happens. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2677627
  13. I say the rotation will look something like. 1. Schilling 2. Beckett 3. Matsukaza? If they can agree to terms with the guy as of right now I wonder if we will even see this guy next year. 4. Papelbon 5. Dinardo
  14. I say the Sox need to negotiate with Boras still but also adress their other problems. They need to remember that there are a few other players out there they need to sign and not just Matsukaza.
  15. Hope not. What we need to see is Lugo in a Boston uniform playing SS. Seems like the Sox aren't doing anything this offseason we haven't heard anything other than the whole J.D Drew situation but even that seems to be dying off. I think the Sox are too concerned with Matsukaza right now. They need to focus on the more important things like getting a SS and signing a RF to take over for Nixon. If the Sox don't smarten up they will find themselves without J.D Drew or Julio Lugo. And if they are going to trade Manny then they MUST get those two guys. Don't get me wrong those two are not near what Manny is but if you have no Lugo, Drew or Manny then this team will be in BIG, BIG trouble.
  16. Unless the Sox want to have Eric Gagne as their last option they need to get Borowski and get him now. There is no question about it.
  17. Doubt it I can't see that deal happening I'll believe it when it's posted on mlb.com.
  18. Wow the Phillies loose Wolf and sign Eaton. Pretty interesting. He's going to be a good fit in their rotation.
  19. The Barajas deal is dead it fell through today according to the article on MLB.COM. It would be great if the Jays didn't resign Zaun and had to use Phillips behind the plate. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20061127&content_id=1746723&vkey=hotstove2006&fext=.jsp
  20. Chad Cordero would be a great pickup for the Red Sox. But If they did end up trading Willy Mo for Cordero then who would start in right field for the Sox next year. Im thinking they'd have to go with Eric Hinske. Don't get me wrong I would love for the Sox to get Cordero but the only thing that worries me is the whole right fielder situation.
  21. Man this really sucks. The Sox most likely won't be able to afford J.D Drew. Won't surprise me at all if the Yankees end up with this guy we all know they will pay anything for anyone. Will Mo is a good player but I would much rather have J.D Drew. This really really sucks man.
  22. The Pawsox look like a fairly decent team. They have a good core of players on their roster and I really like the fact that Kottaras is going to be playing with the Pawsox next year. I've heard that the Sox may want to bring him onto the big league roster in 2008 to backup Varitek. Another move that I would love to see as I really like this guy I think he's a great prospect who is going to break out and be a good solid big league catcher. I can't wait to see what he does next season.
  23. Pedroia is more than likely going to be the Sox full time second baseman come next season. I like him in the lineup I think he is a great player. He just needs a bit more time to mature and bring up his game but I think starting will help him out alot and we will see him become a great second baseman for the Sox. By the way does anyone know where George Kottaras and Josh Papelbon will be starting the year come the 2007 season.
  24. Cabrera won't be coming to Boston. I still strongly believe that the Sox will sign Julio Lugo It's just a matter of time before we hear it happening. I'm hoping it happens soon cause I can't take waiting to hear if they have signed Lugo.
  25. Carlos Lee would be a great addition but I would much rather have Manny Ramirez. Carlos Lee is no where near the hitter that Manny is. Manny won't be going anywhere this year. The same thing is going to happen that always does there will be serious talks about Manny being traded but nothing will happen. He will be back in Left next year. I personally think the Sox are too busy trying to sign Drew and Lugo which I am praying that they do cause what a great addition they would be to the lineup. Manny will be staying put I guarantee it.
