  1. Figures. I dug around for a little while hoping to find something but yeah, all I read was that e-mail that guy posted on sosh. Lame. Oh well, even with Delcarmen, we pretty much are playing 6 inning games.
  2. How do we know it's totally false?
  3. definitely not worth masterson or our right handed set up man to get a bench player which is essentially what he will be.
  4. I think its close. Bowden is so young and has such great stuff, but Masterson is really impressing right now.
  5. Is Gagne going to the Yankees? I feel so out of the loop...
  6. Watch him have a clause in his contract that inflates his salary to 30 million per year if ever traded for Wily Mo. I would ask for that.
  7. LaRoche for Ellsbury? That might be a really good trade... I'd be kinda happy if we did that.
  8. I think I smell a three team trade of some kind happening here... Hansen for LaRoche? Lowell to Minnesota, Prospects to Texas along with Ellsbury, Bowden and WMP. LaRoche and Texiera to Boston. LaRoche could very much improve our bench.
  9. If we give up Lester AND Gabbard we would have no rotation. DiceK, Beckett, Wake, David Pauley and Kyle Syder? *shudders*
  10. No, I think its pretty obvious Buchholz is staying put. At least if you look at what Theo has done to keep other top pitching prospects, and Buchholz is the best we've had yet... I'd think we have to keep him. Buchholz for Texiera straight up probably wouldn't even be fair... add anyone else going to Texas and its officially a kings ransom.
  11. Great game. Definitely something we can build on. After the 6th, I believe there is no chance for comebacks... our bullpen is so fuking intense.
  12. Actually, he did hit 96 in A ball this year. He definitely is battling some fatigue but not the point where he is ineffective. I don't think his velocity has ever been consistently sub-90 for him, but also its never consistently above 93 or 94. He definitely hit 93-94 a bunch of times last year, I remember one 95 against the braves. His game isn't velocity though, its movement. He looked really good tonight.
  13. Last guy I would want us to sign is CC. Weight problems, other health issues, and has never pitched 200 innings in his career. Has had just enough success to command a major pay day.
  14. I think this rumor is total bunk. No way does Theo trade Clay. I would love to have Cabrera, and I think he might be destined to land in Boston sooner or later, with his contract expiring the same year as Ramirez, but I think at this point I wanna see what Bucholz can do in our rotation. Hes a beast.
  15. The other possibility is Theo thinks the price to bring help in from the outside is too high and won't sacrifice the future for this year. He could send Wake to the pen and sink or swim with Lester learning on the job...
  16. Lester was called up today and is getting the start against Cleveland tomorrow. Tavarez goes to the pen, and Lopez will probably be sent down. I think this is too soon. His recent struggles in AAA are making me think hes tiring and needs to spend the year building up strength. I would hate for the kid to come up, get handled, and not have a future in the bigs because of it. Or, lose trade value... I don't know. Could be a good move, who knows, but right now I'm not feeling like a guy with a 5.52 ERA in six June starts is call up worthy. So far, his July hasn't been much more impressive...
  17. Hansen has a 2.06 WHIP? I'm sorry, but thats just funny.
  18. Wow. I'm so happy I don't have a life and I watch every sox game with my lap top. That just made it all worth while.
  19. The problem with WMP isn't his talent. In 2004, he hit like 25 HR's in 300 AB's. He obviously has monster talent. Talent isn't everything though. The major league success has as much to do with making adjustments as it does raw skill. Pena can't do that. He can succeed in certain situations where he has to be thrown a fastball, and against pitchers who really don't have much other than gas, but his AB's are embarrassingly bad. It looks like he has the memory of a goldfish and just forgets the pitch before and just keeps looking for the same thing. He can be setup easily and breaking balls are a totally new concept to this guy. He needs consistent playing time because he needs to develop his ability to get in good AB's. Problem is, he is 26, and for a guy with nothing more than raw talent he is pretty old. He has no options and no value because he can't learn in a starting job for a major league team with any dignity and has zero value as a bench player. I think we should just send him to AAA through waivers and if someone claims him, someone claims him.
  20. Buchholz won't be up until much later in the season. He isn't building up arm strength... he's learning how to set up hitters. It isn't time to bring him up.
  21. What makes this so hard to watch is that the only things that could really help our team via trade are remote possibilities at best due to the bleak trade market. Gah!
  22. If I had 360, no way do I watch this game.
  23. We'd have to send Youkilis or Lowell somewhere in the deal.
