  1. BTW I'd much rather have him going through a little slump right now than in a month when we really need him.
  2. That's pretty much exactly what I said except this pertains to players and not a whole team. It's hard to disappear on a player so people bash them instead, but the second they turn it around they're behind them.
  3. That's like saying their are a lot of Houston Rockets' fans in China. Welcome.
  4. Well I figured I'd get schilling after the Bush and computer geek question but ... Jason Varitek 93% Johnny Damon 83% Theo Epstein 80% Curt Schilling 70% Kevin Millar 60% Manny Ramirez 53% David Ortiz 20% Mark Bellhorn 20% How could I be that close to Johnny, and Theo?
  5. I have 10 teams and this probably isn't my best team but it happened to be the last one I looked at so ... QB B. Favre WR J. Walker WR D. Bennett WR N. Burleson RB L. Tomlinson RB D. Foster TE Da. Clark BN L. Evans (Buf - WR) BN J. Delhomme (Car - QB ) BN F. Taylor (Jac - RB ) BN H. Miller (Pit - TE) BN W. Parker (Pit - RB ) K J. Reed DEF Pittsburgh BN Arizona (Ari - DEF) LT will probably come close to winning me the league, but I think having Favre and Walker will kill me in the long run.
  6. I assume I'm thrown into the grop of the "fan police" so ... I'm gonna apologize for correctly calling you a fair weather fan. If what you, and many others on this board have done, is not being a fair weather fan then please explain exactly what a fair weather fan is. No, numbers do not lie. If all the variables are equal then the results of the numbers will tell the truth about a player/s. The only people that say numbers lie are people that are always proved wrong by them (example: people that talk out of their ass with absolutly no evidence to back up what they say)
  7. A real fan does not bash a player only to jump back on his bandwagon again, only to hop back off and stab him in the back ... only to jump back on. You're either with a guy or your not. You can't pick and chose when you're going to cheer for a player. It's fine to question a players motives, or his talent after a tough patch. I'm fine with that, but when you completely throw someone under the bus, and then all the sudden you start cheering for them when they turn it around pisses me off to a new level. It's the very definition of being a fairweather fan. The funny thing about Rents is that he had like 20 errors 2 months ago ... now he has 24. He's improved every area of his game over the last few months ... now is not the time to start bashing him again.
  8. He's still on pace to hit 7 more HRs than last year, have 23 more RBI, right on pace of last year with SLG, and his BA is exactly where is was last year. I don't really see a slump of any kind. Everyone was having this conversation at the begining of the year and he turned it on. He's not Kevin Millar ... he'll be just fine. Leave him alone.
  9. Yeah facts are really ridiculous.
  10. Yeah most washed up players, especially football players, are in and out when they're washed up.
  11. If that happens you won't have time to hate him because they sky will be falling, volcanos will be erupting, and pigs will be flying.
  12. He can play 1st. Don't think he can play 2nd though.
  13. Exactly, if you're Manny or Papi feel free to joke around and be as big an ass as you want, but if your KFK just shut up and suck. When you suck you don't go around telling people you're "the Tom Brady of baseball". You don't talk to the media when you suck. That's what is pissing most of us off. Kev is making a joke of the fact that he sucks, and it's not funny.
  14. There's a big difference between being fairweather and knowing when it's time to give up on a player. People bashing Rents after a bad first month were fair weather. People bashing Schilling his first time out of the pen, or during his first start is fair weather. But waiting for a player to come around for half a season then giving up on him is just common sense. Millar has had more than enough time to get out of this slump ... it's not gonna happen.
  15. No, but I can blame you for taking out of your ass. I certainly don't follow the Packers very closely and I didn't think he was washed up. Anyway, if you don't follow him then maybe you should have looked up his stats before, like I said, you talked out of your ass. Stop trying to argue about this, because you're wrong.
  16. Right I didn't, so I looked them up instead of talking out of my ass.
  17. You're right. He's part of the heart and guts ... but not the talent. If he wants to be our "guy with heart" then tell him to retire and become a bench coach.
  18. I'm a dick for hoping the Yankees do bad? I could understand you saying that if it was a life threatening injury but it's not. I'm sure when you heard Curt was hurt you wished him a speedy recovery right? Foulke too? Right you didn't, so shut the f*** up.
  19. What has favre done to make you think he's an "old dirt bag that can't hack it" Year Team G GS Att Comp Pct Yards YPA Lg TD Int Tkld 20+ 40+ Rate 2004 GBP 16 16 540 346 64.1 4088 7.57 79 30 17 12/93 50 12 92.4 Maybe it's the fact that he threw for for 4088 yard. More than he has since 1999. Maybe he had his best YPA last year since 2001. Maybe it's because his completion percentage was the 2nd highest in his career. Or is it because he had his best passer rating since 2001. You tell me. Stop talking out of your ass.
  20. I can't imagine any team will have legitament interest in Millar after the season. Any team that does is dillusional.
  21. Now the Yankees only reliable pitcher goes down. Hopefully this injury will nag him for the rest of the year.
  22. In the entire month of August KFK has had 4 RBI .... 4!!!! In 79 AB he's only been able to drive home 4 god damn runs. .299/.316/.241 For August ... I don't even think he would be starting at AA at this point. It's not like this team is in need of offense, but could you imagine if Tito would start a 1B that atleast has a chance of getting a hit when he comes to the plate?
  23. http://www.saschaseidel.de/board/grafik/smilie/spam.gif How many posts can you make where you just say cha?
