I think quite simply we just keep Rents and give him atleast until the trade deadline to get his s*** together. For a team that seems to be all about chemistry changing the entire infield just doesn't make sense to me.

OK as I Pirates fan I can clear this up and explain why it's an excellent move for the Pirates. Dave Williams is likely going to be pushed out of the rotation this year due to Van Benschoten and Burnett both coming back from injury, so he was expendable. Not to mention we have 5 capable(Burnett, Van Benschoten, Maholm) to great(Perez, Duke) lefty starters and a 6th on the way(Gorzelanny) We have a 1B who was a late season call up, Brad Eldred. He needs 1 more year in AAA to cut down on his strikeouts, and improve his fielding. Casey has 1 year left on his contract, so the Pirates will likely trade him at the deadline and call Eldred up for the remander of the season. I think if Casey is having a good year he could fetch something worth much more than Dave Williams. So in the end this trade gives us time to let Eldred get ready, and will also return, hopefully, another piece more important to us than Dave Williams. BTW Casey is not overrated in any way. If anything he's underrated.

I'm willing to bet anything that Duke will win the National Title this year, barring another serious injury.

I don't understand why being on TV would matter, and I don't think Coach K accepts players who think like that. Coach K wants players who want to win, and are committed to winning a National Championship. Have you noticed how many of Duke's stars have stayed their full 4 years? If players were only interested in getting their highlights on tv would they stay 4 years when they were a star their sophmore/junior year? No they wouldn't.

That sounds like a good deal but I feel that we're going to be a better team with Tony G at 2B Tony G only had 4 errors last year while lugo had 24. I take Tony's glove over Lugo's speed, and pop.

JJ gets the best defender on every team they play. He gets double teamed by almost every team as well. Ok well my point was that JJ puts up HUGE numbers with a lot of talent around him. AI leads the NBA in scoring every year because there's no one else on his team, until Cwebb this year. Coach K also built his program for nothing. You can be overrated without being picked to win the NC. UConn is a very good team year in and year out but I dont think they've been the top 5 team that ESPN ranks them as for the last few years. Of course it gives Reddick opportunities, but you didn't answer my question. Whats the Devils "system"? Get the ball inside and dish it out? That's almost every single teams gameplan. Of course having better players around you makes the game easier for you, but JJ is the driving force of the offense. There is no player on the court for Duke more important to the offense than JJ, simply because he can score from anywhere on the court ... anyway he can. So again I'm gonna ask ... what is this "system" that makes me think JJ is the best player in the nation? I've been watching Duke all my life and I've yet to see a system.
