  1. Aren't you the one arguing facts in the first place?
  2. No. Clutch - a tense critical situation The 3rd inning is never a tense critical situation.
  3. Would you ever use the words "gets the job done" and "does his part" for a guy who's talked about as one of the greatest post season players of all time? His numbers show that you are correct in using those terms though. Jesus Christ now you're quoting the guy. Maybe you should put down the Kool Aid before you have this discussion. If a player produces you'll be able to look at his numbers and say ... "hey, there's his production". Statistics seperate people talking out of their asses and homers(like you) from actual baseball fans.
  4. You guys are HILARIOUS! "I DON'T CARE WHAT NUMBERS SAY ... I KNOW WHAT I SAW!!!" I honestly don't understand how someone can look at numbers that are clearly printed infront of them, and say that they don't believe it. You sound like old men. This guy gave you facts ... he gave you Derek Jeter's post season stats ... what about them do you not believe? Do you think ESPN let this guy shave some numbers off somewhere? ARE YOU f***ING STUPID!? ... or just blinded by those pinstripe glasses?
  5. ... yeaaaaaaaaaaah ... no. If you can honestly watch ESPN, and not see the clear bias they have for certain teams then maybe you're watching the wrong channel. Just consider that ESPN's baseball analysts completely ignored the fact that the Yankees have no rotation to speak of, and just discussed their amazing offense. They didn't spend a second discussing the fact that a team with WS aspirations has Shawn Chacon as their 3rd best starter.
  6. Baseball-Reference.com will give you their salaries for every year but the current, and you can get this years salary on ESPN.com, but i'm not sure where you can go for contract length.
  7. Petey is the main reason I became a Red Sox fan, and as long as he is not pitching for the Yankees I will not boo him. BDD should be shut down. It gives RSN a bad name.
  8. I can't wait till he dies in 10 years because of his steroid use. I don't care if he hits 10,000 more HRs. I just want him to go away.
  9. When Coco is healthy he'll be back. I've honestly forgotten about him again. We're .006 points out of first place and we haven't had our leadoff for almost the entire way. If we were struggling and under .500 at this point then I'd be concerned about Coco's return, but as long as we're winning I'm not worried about him. When he gets back it'll be a great addition. We have much bigger concerns than Coco coming back. We need to find a 5th pitch, and maybe a 4th. BTW I can't think of much in the world more painful than passing a kidney stone.
  10. For anyone wondering why the Yankees haven't thrown at Papi ... just think about it. Ever been in a fight with someone bigger and stronger than you before? What happens when you hit them? They just get madder, and come at you twice as hard. Hitting Ortiz would be a mistake. Ortiz already kills the Yankees ... now they want to give him more of a reason to do so ... that makes sense.
  11. The only record I know of for consecutive doubles takes place in 4 consecutive ABs, not just 4 doubles without another hit in between.
  12. He's really not doing that bad with the stick. He's hitting better than 2/3rds of the Pirates roster.
  13. If the Pirates would ever commit to youth they'd have a shot to at least get close to .500, but they always bring in a few 40+ year olds. The Pirates will be miserable until we get new ownership. We only need 3 more years under .500 to be the team with the most consecutive losing seasons in any major sport. As far as Perez goes I think there is no question he was on steroids in the past. He's lost all of the pop from his fastball ... 7 mph. He's done.
  14. But ya know those Pirates always suck.
  15. Yeah I don't think Yeszir is going to make a section of the board for Fantasy Baseball, but I don't think he'd be against you making a general Fantasy Baseball Thread.
  16. I wish Barry Zito would retire so we wouldn't have to talk about trading for him every few months.
  17. Valuable pitcher? A 14-10 pitcher with a 4.51 ERA is valuable? Last year he was less valuable than the Pirates 5th starter. Proven solid big league arm? His career 4.59 ERA only proves to me that he was never worthy of being in our rotation.
  18. I doubt we'd get more than a bag of sunflower seeds for JT.
  19. Yeah he did a whole lot of carrying the other night in the 2nd half. Kobe is a punk, and he's not the MVP.
  20. Please give me a break. I don't even watch the NBA and this award is obvious. The Suns lost one of their main contributers, and they were still what ... the 3rd best team in the West? Steve Nash took a franchise that sucked and made it great immediatly, and then repeated that performance missing a big piece.
  21. It's not about him coming back and being good or bad. It's when he gets hurt.
  22. I understand that. Some players just get a little kick in the ass from somethings and feel like they have something to prove, and play to potential. It was more of a joke than a truth.
  23. Maybe the Hansen talk lit a fire under him.
  24. If you know anything about sports you'd know that you're never able to stick to any plans. Especially in baseball where there are a million variables on every single pitch that could completely change the "plan" for your season.
  25. And you're already a douche bag. Must be a pretty good day. Honestly, who cares about your post count besides 12 year olds?
