  1. Wells hasn't looked great, but he's definatly looked better than I expected.
  2. thanks. Hopefully thats all it was.
  3. Can someone tell me why Tek is out of the game? I took a break at work and when I came back Belli was getting gunned down at home.
  4. I don't understand WMP hitting behind Coco ... I'd even consider moving him up ahead of Tek as well.
  5. Like I said in the other thread. Theo didn't want to add a former roid head who can't pitch.
  6. You really wanted Theo did add an obvious former roid using pitcher ... who can no longer pitch?
  7. No ... I believe he actually made the comment shortly after the worst trade of his career. Aramis Ramirez, Kenny Lofton, and Randall Simon to the Cubs for Bobby Hill.
  8. I don't have any specific instances of when the Yankees f***ed the Pirates over, but his statement was made in a general sense ... he said he would no longer trade his good young players to big market teams only offering average players/prospects just to get rid of the contract ... but that's exactly what he did. Actually he took a well below average player.
  9. I'm not even angry about the fact that this is a completely one sided deal. I'm angry because Pirates GM Dave Littlefield said he would no longer allow the Pirates to be raped by the Yankees, and then he allows it to happen. The Pirates go from an awful team wtih 2 average 1Bs ... to an awful team with no 1B ... good move Dave. Keep stacking those pitchers up ... we only have 8 big league ready starters under 28 ... we really do need more.
  10. Yeah I've watched him his entire career. He's a guy who came up with all the stuff to be an Ace, and just never had the confidence to pound the strike zone. The biggest knock against him is that he nibbles too much, and falls behind in too many counts, which ends in him giving up big hits. He has a low 90's fastball, but he can rev it up to 95. He has a good slider, and a decent change and curve. Like I said he has the tools to be a good pitcher, but he has no confidence in his stuff.
  11. Kip is a guy who will come out and throw a gem, then blow for 2 months. I couldn't want this guy any less.
  12. Kip Wells is awful.
  13. I have been watching it and have yet to get the feeling that we're going to get him.
  14. I know you watch more Red Sox games than we do so you'd know why Coco makes the catches he does. Thank you so much for clearing that up.
  15. That would be like wanting a BMW and settling a used Hyundai.
  16. Right but that number could still be subjective because a fielder might be on a team with a lot of fly ball pitchers ... which would reduce the number of balls hit to him and lower his RF eventhough he did nothing wrong. Please name one game we lost becasue of him not getting his glove on a ball up the middle. Then I will name 25 games we lost last year because of errors. Like I said before I'll take a guy that catches everything hit to him over a guy who might get his glove on a ball up the middle.
  17. Yeah but see you're missing the point. When those players come to the ends of their contracts and are completely useless, yet still making 15 mill they'll have to just sit them on the bench, because no one will take their huge contracts. It's not about the initial money ... it's all about the after affects.
  18. Weren't you one of the Yankee fans screaming that Chacon wasn't a fluke? Now you're admitting he is.
  19. you're going to wear a shirt with the sox logo on it?
  20. Never claimed we did. The bolded comment is the spot which you lost all credibility with me. You'll make claims later than an NL pitcher with a mid 4 ERA is gonna win a lot of games in the AL ... but here you say a kid who pitched 5.1 innings and allowed 2ER sucks. Ah but see I'm not overlooking him, or his mid 4 ERA. You are overlooking the fact that he plays in the NL. His ERA will not be in the mid 4's in the AL East. Just for a reference ... the last time he was in the AL East his ERA was 5.75. Why build on a strength when you have several other glaring weaknesses? Lidle will not make it to the 7th inning of many games in the AL. He averaged just a shade under 6 innings a game in his last stint in the AL East.
  21. OK so after some thought I've come up with a conspiracy theory about this. Clemens really wanted to sign with the Red Sox, but he also wanted to help Houston. So he decided to go to Houston ... wait till it's almost the deadline ... and then he and Houston leak that he'd like to be traded to the Sox. Now he is going to help Houston by at least bringing back some prospects, and he gets to go to the team he wanted to in the first place. I definatly see Houston getting more than the Yankees gave up for Abreu, but I'm really not sure what they'd be interested in.
  22. Why is it that everyone feels like we HAVE to make a move? Does being one of the best teams in the game for 102 games mean nothing? Clearly it doesn't because "COME ON THEO ITS THE DEADLINE LIKE MAKE A MOVE OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" If there isn't a quality move to be made then we wont make a move. I read someone earlier who said we needed to "shake up" the team. You do not "shake up" a first place team. You may fill a hole, but you do not "shake it up". Making a move right now just because the Yankees did could end up costing us for years.
  23. I just want to start punching you in the face and never stop. How does getting another bat help a team that has no pitching? Great they'll score another run or two ... still wont change the fact that their whole rotation besides moose is giving up 5+ runs a night.
