    if Boras is demanding $100 mil for 6 years, I say do it. Like it or not, that's what the market is at these days and unless you want to build your staff completely though your farm, this is going to be the price you're going to have to pay

    I don't root for any Yankee. I respect a lot of them and want a few on my team but there's no way I root for any. I'd want Damon, Jeter, Mo, Wang and Abreu on my team, all for obvious reasons

    I would still blame the FO cause they lowballed Boras/Matsuzaka with their initial offer. 7-8 mil a year for 6 years? in a market where Gil f***ing Meche gets 11 million? If thats the best offer the FO comes out with, I'll be more inclined to believe this was simply a block on the Yankees

    there's gonna be a lot of ups and downs with this story in the next 4 days but if no deal is reached, I place blame squarely on the FO's shoulders if Dice-K wants a deal and the FO wants a deal, then Boras has no leverage. He works for Dice-K

    Apparently, the KC Star is reporting that Meche is gonna get between 55 and 60 mil for a 5-year deal from the Royals. Incredible....

    I'm starting to wonder. Jon Lester said today his goal is to be ready for spring training. So that being said, what if Lester becomes the 5th starter and Wakefield returns to the closer role?

    Looks like the batting order is set, with Manny trade rumors dying down slowly each day. Time to focus on Matsuzaka and the bullpen

    Since it is just about official that JD Drew is a Red Sox, I will keep an open mind about him and give him the benefit of the doubt. Clearly, the market is such that $14 mil today isn't what $14 mil was as recent as 2-3 years ago the 72 games he played in '05 is really an abberation when you look at his career numbers and he's been relatively healthy 2 out of the last 3 years. He's got decent power, great ability to get on-base and is probably as good as a 5 guy in the lineup as we could've hoped for but like I said earlier, my perception of this deal hinges greatly on the outcome of this Manny thing

    Excellent news but baseball should still be on the back burner for now. Now it's about getting healthy again and building his strength back up
