its the whole "change for the sake of change thing". outfield isnt really an area of weakness at all and although it would be nice if Coco hit for some power and had a better arm so he could play right, can you really get a five-tool player to be a 4th outfielder anyway?

upon further reflection, its the best solution. if Selig called the game when it became official after 5 innings, the Phillies are champs and everyone outside Philly goes apeshit. if Selig suspended the game when he did and the Rays hadn't scored in the top of the 6th, Philly fans riot to no end cause under the rules, they should have won. they just really need to implement a rule that says a playoff game cannot be called, it can be suspended if the situation warrants until the full 9 innings are played

I dont see why you change anything with the outfielders. Bay is a rock in left, Ellsbury is an up and comer in center and Drew is solid, albeit fragile, in right which is why you need a capable 4th outfielder, which they have in Coco

Perhaps, yes cause it gets Hamels out of the game But it also avoids a massive PR nightmare for Selig cause now, regardless of everything else, a 9 inning baseball game will decide the winner of game 5

Thomas is fine. the problem the Bruins have is defense...well that and spending $4 mil a year on our reject, Michael Ryder. You have no defense beyond Chara.
