    if I remember right, Lester was the centerpiece of the deal that would've brought Santana to Boston along with Crisp, Masterson and Lowrie. Does anyone really think we even make the playoffs with Santana instead of our best starter, our best CF, our best righty setup man and the guy who prevented Alex Cora from being the full-time shortstop for 2 1/2 months? im not even sure I would trade Lester straight up for Santana

    yea, but why would he need to retire from being a player in the first place? I dont think there's any doubt that he isnt thinking about being anything but a player for the next few years. I dont see the Sox bending over backwards to keep Varitek, theyve shown theyre very willing to cut ties with guys who are dear in the hearts of RSN when its time

    Yea, I was gonna say, they mightve found their guy last night The only thing that pisses me off is that 95% of the people celebrating in that stadium last night didn't realize Tampa even had a f***ing baseball team until 3 weeks ago

    Provided Burnett leaves, their opening day rotation looks like this: Halladay, Litsch, ????, ????, ???? McGowan is out until at least May and Marcum is gone for the year Great bullpen but their lineup is very iffy

    Lester is looking good so far. Looks like he has good command of all his pitches so far and is keeping the Rays off-balance

    I'd like anyone who bashes JD Drew for non-chalant attitude to understand one thing about him now. The guy has now produced 4 huge hits in the playoffs in his 2 years in Boston and it's because of the fact that he takes the same attitude towards an at-bat in April as he does in the late-innings of an October game that he can produce those hits.
