That's what I'm saying, Rask won't get 30 starts unless Thomas gets injured or regresses big time simply because the financial investment in Thomas is too big.
It's definitely not a good day for Rask but even if he demands a trade, tons of NHL teams are pulling goalies out of their asses these days anyway.
Bruins extended Tim Thomas for 3 years at $5.2 million per season. Tuukka Rask looks to be a backup for at least three years beginning next season. Thoughts?
I think it's more of a case of starting pitching being so deep. You can still win without drafting a CC, Johan or Lincecum so those guys just aren't as valued as guys who produce top-notch offensive statistics
I took Rollins with the 11th overall pick in a draft. I think you can do it as long as you get some power with your next pick, which I did getting Longoria
I think 2004-2007 David Ortiz is gone forever but he's still only 33 years old and he's better than a .270 hitter. It really all depends on how well his wrist holds up
Looks like Tito may be going with his opening day batting order today
Ellsbury, CF
Pedroia, 2B
Ortiz, DH
Youkilis, 1B
Drew, RF
Bay, LF
Lowell, 3B
Lowrie, SS
Varitek, C
Especially for someone like Ortiz whose sole purpose is to hit. He may not be as concerned about his body fat percentage as some other ballplayers out there.
