  1. Batting Strikeouts? Pitching Losses? Caught stealing? Fielding Errors?
  2. He has the second best offense in all of baseball. He puts his team in a hole before they even have a chance to score runs. No excuses. Good pitchers find ways to win. Notice how I used the term good, and not great.
  3. And that measures his ability? He sucks.
  4. I think the biggest question is, is Matt Garza better than what you already have. Beckett sucks, Lester has sucked and Franklin Morales is in the bullpen. Beckett and Lester are not going anywhere unless one is traded. So the bigger question is, is Garza better than Cook or Morales....and if he is, how much better is he? I dont think Garza makes a bit of difference when you are talking about replacing 4's and 5's with a 3 when you already have enough of them.
  5. You would think not, but I fought this battle for a long time........and its not like this happened over night...and I am not talking about performance only. He wore out his welcome 3 years ago. He was great last year statistically speaking as a whole, and I still wanted him gone.
  6. We dont need Francisco Liriano, We already have a better option who was just sent to the bullpen. No need to waste prospects on garbage when you have a better option available in Franklin Morales.
  7. Josh Beckett....LOL!!!! Where are the apologists tonight???? Hes a stopper alright, too bad hes stopping the wrong team. Please trade him. Ive been begging for Beckett and Salty's trades for 2 years now. PLEASE GET RID OF THEM.
  8. I hate that hes in the bullpen. He was one of the reasons I enjoyed watching them this year. I do understand though. With Cook pitching well, they are better off with him in the bullpen.
  9. Jayson Stark ‏@jaysonst #Cubs still working to trade Ryan Dempster ASAP. One source says Red Sox are officially out on Dempster, still in on Matt Garza Good that we are out on Dempster. Hopefully by tomorrow, we are also out on Garza. They do not improve us over what he already have. No need to waste prospects on s***** rentals. No more Jeff Suppans please.
  10. I really wish they could get Lavarnway some at bats. The only thing I can think of is that they don't want to waste an option. If he is called up when rosters expand, does that count as an option?
  11. Absolutely not. We do not need players like Hanley in our clubhouse. We are still struggling to rid ourselves of the current problem. And Morales is going to be a damn good starting pitcher. Absolutely not.
  12. Similar splits last year for Varitek as well I believe. Hes awful......hes come crashing back to earth pretty hard after an impressive flukey first half. Numbers don't lie. He is what he is, and the team does better when he is not on the field.
  13. On the flip side, when they score less than their opponents....they have 100% of those games. Did you know?.......In the seventh inning, if I drink 3 beers before the second batter gets 2 strikes, and it is sunny with a 5 mph wind, and the pitcher shakes off 4 signals to throw a curveball, that is hit in to a double play, and there is a runner on 3B, and there are less than 2 outs.....well, in those situations the Redsox are undefeated.
  14. Hanley Ramirez is the exact OPPOSITE of the type of person we need for the clubhouse. That would be a disaster.

  16. Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources say #RedSox gauging interest in Crawford. GM Cherington says, "There's nothing going on." Full column here: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/boston-red-sox-carl-crawford-trade-deadline-miami-marlins-jose-reyes-hanley-ramirez-los-angeles-dodgers-071812
  17. You guys are crazy. Why would the Mariners want our trash? They would want any combination of Ellsbury/Bard/Buchholz with some higher tier prospects like Boeggarts, Lavarnway and Iglesias. They are in no rush to deal him, and he seems to be comfortable playing in Seattle. Why would they take anything less than a blockbuster or talent?
  18. 2 for his last 29.
  19. Shoppach is a pretty decent defensive catcher. He would probably produce less than Salty, but the defensive tradeoff might be worth it. Lavarnway is rotting away down there. He could be brought up to learn from Shoppach. Besides Lavarnway, nobody else is close.
  20. Since June 1st: 32 Games. 114 AB's. 20 Hits. .175 BA. 41 K's. .237 OBP. .593 OPS. Still can't catch or call a game.
