  1. .....is not the future at SS.
  2. Hopefully Emmz hasn't purchased a lighter recently. http://thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?P=Mauro-Gomez Why? Hes done nothing but hit in the minors with what looks to be a decent OB/OPS skill set. Hes never gotten the opportunity. Youkilis was the same age before given an opportunity. Franklin Morales will be in the rotation. Hes looked better than Doubront IMO. Come on man......you knew it was over before it even started. No need to be dramatic. I work between 48-64 hours a week. Overtime is like gold. Most people would kill to make $48 dollars an hour.......I cant turn down money knowing some people dont have jobs at all. Im very grateful for what I have.
  3. Me too, the guy can rake.....and he seems to be a generally great guy/teammate. Even if he cant catch anymore, he can still hit......and 1B is open, as well as DH in the next couple of years. If MIN can eat like 5M a year to knock that down to the 18M range......Im all for it.
  4. nonononononononno Papelbon was overpaid and overrated, remember? 8 Blown Saves now.
  5. No no no no no...... dont go there around here.
  6. If LL were involved, no way this trade goes through. This is a blockbuster, I have to think that LL was out of the loop on this one.
  7. He was a member of the team for a number of years. He served as a bench coach in 2002. He was a major league Catcher and 1B'man. He was a true professional. His approach to hitting is most similar to the glory days here (take pitches, high OB%, high OPS). He was always a respected member of their clubhouse. Like John Farrell, when Mike Stanley walks into a clubhouse, his quiet yet direct approach gets peoples attention. Mike Stanley knows the game.
  8. Mike Stanley........do not underestimate my pick.
  9. Mike Stanley......I really want him.
  10. I think it might be done. Doesnt matter, its not like anyone really cared. I tried my hardest for 3 years to get that place going.....had a ton of other people sign up, but nobody ever really posted anything of suibstance. You would think that a team as popular as the patriots would have generated a ton of traffic. Unfortuneatly, last year...most of the traffic was generated by myself, my friends and some fake user names. Nobody cared.
  11. Tonight was the night that JH gave the reigns to Ben Cherington and told LL to take a seat....... Ben Cheringtons handprints are all over this......maybe we finally have a GM.
  12. Any ideas? I could see TIto back, but I really want Mike Stanley.
  13. Well, thats the thing. If they get rid of the ringleaders, who are also being dicks, who are also under performing.....they are fixing the problem. The problem with this team, is that the problems are painfully obvious to everyone except management. You know what they are.....I know what they are.....everyone except LL and JH it seems. Until they fix the problem, many of us will have the same issues with the team day by day. It is everyones right to express how they feel.....it just sounds and looks like bashing because they haven't done a thing to fix it, and the problem has existed well over a year.
  14. Why are posters bringing on field performance into this thread? The thread is about an off the field incident regarding the red sox. Since this is a redsox forum and the incident involved the redsox, it's a relevant topic.
  15. http://boston.barstoolsports.com/around-barstool/basically-the-entire-red-sox-team-skipped-johnny-pesky%E2%80%99s-funural-but-did-manage-to-party-at-beckett-bowl-that-same-night/
  16. Emmz, there is no defending this. When one of my brothers/sisters die......just about every single law enforcement agency as well as local fire and military personnel across the state show up. The wake takes upwards of 3-4 hours to get through and the street is lined in uniformed men and women in their class A's. We wear blue stripes across our badges for 30 days (like the one in my avatar) after ANY agency loses a brother/sister. Its a joke that 4 players attended the funeral of a guy who gave his life to be a part of the Boston Redsox Organization. Beckett can't show up for this, yet tries to recruit people to show up to his bowling event? Gross.
  17. I like the way you think. Tony Mazz made a suggestion today that I absolutely love. Mike Stanley for baseball manager......man I would love that. He was always regarded as a professional as well as a leader, and he knows the game. A former catcher who had a very good approach to hitting.
  18. Like the majority of them. Mid 4 to 5 ERA....10-12 wins.
  19. Yes. Last year was an illusion.
  20. 4ER, 7 Hits, and 3 BB in 5 IP......17 MILLION. What a piece of crap.
  21. Ozzie Smith was a hall of fame player. Rey Ordonez was a whiz with the glove. What happened to him and his limited offensive talent?
  22. Then don't argue with me. I want the same thing you do........it's ghost town, but Im still here just as you are. The things that I say Im "right" about.....if they change those things, they will be better off. The thing that pisses me off, is that some of the things I continue to point out.....they were obvious a long time ago. This didn't happen over night......this has been slowly developing for 2 years. Yeah....they were hot for a stretch last year, but as a whole.....they were unlikable from day 1.
  23. I want Beckett and Salty out........thats all I have ever wanted.
  24. Iglesias is not a major league caliber offensive player. Not even close. As I pointed out before, His slugging is actually lower than his OB%. To accomplish that, you have to be almost inept offensively.
  25. Well, Im glad were both on par. You already knew you wouldn't like my response, yet you took a shot at me anyway. Im allowed to say as I'd like, just as you. The only way things will change, is if fans stop caring and they become irrelevant. Being irrelevant is not exactly a good business model, and thats all they are in the eyes of LL and JH. Bad baseball = no money = change. EDIT: See you added a ton of nonsense at the end after I responded. I believe questioning a fans "fandom" has gotten people banned around here......actually I am 100% positive it has.
