So I was a little confused about what MVP was quoting..... and then I realized that even though I blocked a700, he logged out, copied.....and pasted what I wrote regarding blocking him in a new post. Internet stalking, pretty sad and pathetic.

Just block a700 and Fred. Its much more enjoyable around here with them blocked. Fred is a clown.....hes been a fan of every single Major League Baseball baseball team during his tenure here. One of the biggest phony Sox fans I've seen on this board.

This is what I suggested earlier in the off-season. Looks like we are pretty strong in negotiations with Napoli. We are still in on Swisher and Hamilton. Alex Gonzalez and Jason Bay are minor pieces that are not out of the question. A trade of Felix Doubront, Jose Iglesias, Salty, Ryan Kalish and another add-in for Matt Garza and James Russell are not completely preposterous.

If Napoli signs. He will be playing 1B, not catcher. Ortiz has better splits than Napoli in 2011 and 2012, and you want to take the best bat out of the lineup to platoon with a guy who should be playing 1B..........in addition, both players put up good numbers against lefties, but you want a platoon. Thats stupid. A good baseball team has zero need for players like Daniel Nava, and Im not having this discussion again.

Platoon with David Ortiz? Are you serious? You know his LH vs LH split is MUCH better than Napolis split against LH right? Napoli hit .215 with a .785 split against LH. Ortiz hit .320 with a .985 split lefty on lefty. Also, you are forgetting about Lavarnway. If Swisher signs, hes playing LF or RF. And for christs sake, for the last time.....NO TO DANIEL NAVA!!!! After all this time, you still dont get it. Literally......stunned that you still suggest that he is on this team, furthermore, you suggest he start!!!!! Unf***ingbelievable Dojji. Thank god they got rid of that piece of crap Che-Hsuan Lin, otherwise we'd be hearing about an OF of Nava/Kalish/Lin. Somehow, a new low.

Gomes has a TON of power. If this is the move instead of signing Ross however, I hate it. If he is the replacement, we somehow managed to get worse than we were.

Its almost insufferable at times. How could somebody be so negative every single day, all day long? Its a baseball team. Little boys are the ones who should be kicking and screaming about their favorite players being traded and lack of big name moves. Not grown men.

Because its the same stuff everyday here. I am not a BC guy. I criticized the move when it was made, but at least be fair. Well who? Who are these plenty of guys? You rip BC apart, but don't name anybody. Mark Buerhle is not a run of the mill starter. He is 200+ IP, 12-14 wins and 3.7-4.0 ERA. Who are the guys available, in addition to essentially the same exact s***** team last year that are going to make a difference? Because you are so negative about s*** you can't control. This team is not making the playoffs next year, and there is not a whole helluva lot on the market that is going to change it. You are just banging your head against the wall.

So, basically the same team as last year.... With a "strong" bullpen arm and 2 starters. Who are the starters? Some plan.

Nope. I said he wasn't allowed to do his job last year. How is that his fault? You are judging his performance based on a month. Did you forget that he found a team stupid enough to get rid of that cancer Beckett, Crawford and Gonzalez as well?

You clearly never worked at a state job or for a big business. If you had, you would know that his duties last year.....were to shut his mouth and smile, and if he didn't, they would replace him. Also, clearly...you still don't understand that BC was not the GM last year. HE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO DO HIS JOB LAST YEAR. Lets give him until spring training at least.

a700, I used to agree with a lot of what you used to say. You need to take a step back and let last year go man. From the looks of things, the Redsox really effect your life, which is not healthy. How can you be that negative all the time?

Agreed. Its not going to happen over night. This team is not going to finish above third place, no matter what they do. Its better to just accept it. There is simply not enough good players on the market, and the players that are available have HUGE question marks. You guys realize the Redsox are competing with 29 other teams for the FA's right?

That is BC's fault how????? What was he supposed to do last year when he was the GM in title only? I am the most unlikely talksox member here to begin making excuses for that disaster, but you are just being unfair to him. Let him attempt to do his job first.

Lets give BC a chance first. Thus far, its been Ben Cherrington's name and face in the press this offseason. We haven't heard a word from that idiot Lucchino. As long as it stays that way, we may have a shot at improving.

LL ran that team. LL picked the manager. LL/JH didn't allow BC to spend any money. LL didn't allow BC to make any trades to improve the team. By the time LL relinquished his stranglehold, the team had zero playoff hopes.

Ill take Napoli and Swisher over Hamilton. I am not against Hamilton.....but 2 players extend the lineup. What about Napoli AND Hamilton? Thats not out of the question. Also, is Jason Bay worth a spring training invite?

Ive noticed many posters to be quite hard on him. Can we at least give the guy a chance? Hes only been the real GM for a few short months. LL and Theo put together that mess last year. So far, BC managed to wipe the slate clean of the prior regimes mistakes. Lets at least give him credit for that.

I hope Iglesias makes the opening day team, they make him the starter so he can absolutely bomb and we can get this ridiculous talk out of the way early. Hopefully they can still win, despite him. Maybe then we can start talking about major league caliber shortstops.

Ok, well when Pedroia was 23 he won the AL ROY, and then when he was 24....he won the AL MVP, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger. Kalish going to be 25 and hasn't proven a thing. He has actually declined. He doesn't deserve the hype.
