  1. Wow, internet challenge and a personal attack (btw a no no on talksox) Ill back off before this gets ugly. You win the title belt for undefeated internet battler.
  2. My statement regarding Damon. You replied with something other than my comment/statement. I replied with comment referring back to my original Damon comment.
  3. Im sorry didnt know I struck a chord with you, its just the internet though....so pump the brakes. Im pissed off about what happened last offseason and more recently the trade deadline. This is a public forum for people to express what they feel, so if you dont like my opinions you can either ignore me or kick rocks, either way I dont give a f***.
  4. Im sorry.....you really think they thought Damon was going to waive his no trade clause to come to Boston after they f***ed him? If you do, your an idiot.....he made it a point to add Boston to that list because he already played that song and dance and they bent him over.
  5. I think this is Paps last season here. Im not saying we should get rid of him, but I think Bard will/has surpass him for the closers role and Pap wont accept a MR/Setup role. ....that or we role the dice and hope this year is a fluke, but u have to think that Bard is chomping at the bit right now.
  6. Hows that working out this year? With the FA's available this offseason how well do you think they will fair considering the Yankees will be signing at least 2 of the top tier FA's? Maybe I should rephrase my statement......they dont know HOW to spend their money. Third place, get comfy.
  7. You mean like claiming Johnny Damon.....knowing that he had a no trade clause because he hates the front office. They knew he would refuse it but at least they could say "we tried". It all comes down to attendance and ratings in their eyes. Baseball just gets in their way.
  8. I vaguely remember yagmaster, the other one...not so much. From the looks of it they lost interest and were demoted.....if there is such a "rank" on a forum haha.
  9. I agree. I think they should be allowed in the HOF. They are part of baseball history, but there should be mention that they achieved their greatest success during an era in which steroid use was rampant. None of us were around to see the Black Sox scandal......but we still talk about it. We still talk about Ty Cobb and how he was an *******. We still tell stories of how hard Bob Feller threw and about how far Ruth hit homeruns, yet none of us were alive to see these feats. A baseball fan almost never forgets, hell I still remember my first Sox game.....Frank Viola pitched that game (hence my username "Sweet Music", with the "Chin" added in there to remember Pedro with 33 as my playing number in college) and Carlton Fisk homered for the White Sox as a broken down player.
  10. Back to the thread topic..... Not to sorry to see you go Manny, Ill never forget your cockiness when you struck me out for the third time during a legion game when you played for East Boston....******* (I dont hold grudges, I promise). Jeff Allison was 3 times better than you were anyway!!!!!!
  11. The Sox laughed in his face when he said he had an additional year offer from the Yankees. I was pissed when he left but as the saying goes "burned bridges". Damon was pissed off at the same front office that I critique so I cant blame him for not returning. Why would he? They had a chance to sign him in the offseason and they went with Cameron instead. Howd that work out?
  12. Atchieson has produced something.....when he was never thought of to add anything. Anything they get from him is better than what was expected.
  13. He is the least of our problems. Hes been about what I expected and will play about 140 games this year. Lackey and Beckett have been bigger problems than Scutaro.
  14. A deal will not get done. Even if they bring him in here, they wont re-sign him. FO is too cheap. This is just a blocking deal to blow smoke up the fans ass that "we really care". If they cared they'd get a bullpen arm or would have done something at the deadline. They have been in the market for a catcher for 2 years now and I am sure the Angels as well as all of baseball knew it. Hows Lackey doing tonight? Yeah he sucks, dont worry we have a bullpen of solid arms to bail him out.
  15. Ultimately the answer was to do something....anything to show the club you had their back. David Ross, Ryan Hanigan, Ryan Doumit, Chris Snyder, Miguel Monteiro, Ramon Castro all would have been a nice option as a 1a-1b/backup catcher. Brandon League, Brian Fuentes, Brad Zeigler, Rafael Perez, Rob Tejada, Kyle Farnsworth, Aaron Heilman, Matt Belisle, Joe Beimel, Evan Meek, Joel Hanrahan, Sean Marshall, Brandon Lyon......I dont know, werent any of those names better than MDC, Okajima and Atchieson? Bobby Abreu, Austin Kearns, Scott Posednick, David Dejesus, Reed Johnson, Brad Hawpe (just signed), Jason Michaels...etc etc etc....none of those OF's could of helped us? Dojji, do you work for the redsox front office? Why all the defending of their negligent operation for at least this season? I understand you love the team, so do I....thats why I am so pissed off. I guess everyone has their own way of caring about the team, as we are polar opposites. But hey, whatever knocks your socks off. If there is one thing that we can agree with, is that we both care about this team regardless of what they did, or didn't do.
  16. Brian Fuentes was traded to the twins for a minor league player to be named later. Why were we not in on those talks? I guess they are ok with waiting for Oki to come back and stink the joint out. I guess watching the incredible MDC made management think we were ok without him. Burning out Bard and having him pitch every single night makes much more sense. Sigh........could of had another solid arm to dispatch along with Bard and Papelbon at the end of games, and the FO sits on their thumbs which are in the cocked position up their ass. 4 games out from the AL east, wildcard and the fourth best winning percentage in ALL OF BASEBALL and the FO still will do NOTHING to help them. These guys deserve better with all theyve been through.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. Mark Prior Kerry Wood Jason Isringhausen Todd Van Poppel Brien Taylor Bill Pulsipher Ben Mcdonald Steve Avery There is no such thing of "cant miss". There is such a thing of "what if" however.
  18. Wins and ERA, look at previous winners as proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cy_Young_Award#American_League_.281967.E2.80.93present.29
