    Post there! This week was a stepback from last, but thats what happens when you play the hated Jets compared to the Bills. Hopefully next week will be a big showing again on Monday Night Football against the 2-1 Miami Dolphins.

    I am glad to see we are in agreement. In reality...a couple re-signings is all we have to do offensively. The overhaul needs to be done in the bullpen. Paps I think will return, good or bad I am not positive about......what I am positive about is that everyone not named Bard or Papelbon needs to go. Time to revamp and start over back there. I would also like them to sign a #3 or #4 starter for short money if available to light a fire under the ass of Beckett, Lackey and DiceK. Make them earn their spot in the rotation next year. Make Beckett feel like he isnt the star he once thought he was.

    I think they have to re-sign Paps regardless of how he has been this season. The bullpen is putrid, but letting him only makes them worse. I think priority #1 is VMart. If he walks we have nobody to replace him and there are not any other alternatives to gamble on in the FA market. Sign him and sign him early. #2 is Beltre. I am not sure if a deal can be made for him however since I think his pricetag will be above what the Sox will be willing to pay. With Ortiz, we play the waiting game. Not many teams will be in the market for a DH with zero defensive positional flexibility since the sox approach to the DH position is antiquated (all hit, no glove. Most teams use DH in a rotation to get players rest now). I think he comes back but I am not sure if thats a good thing or not. Hes had a nice run, he has had a nice season, but sometimes you have to move on.

    Umm yeah actually they did expect Avery to be the ace of that 97 team, probably ahead of your time. Everett and MVP chants? That lasted about half a season. Coco was brought in with high expectations after a solid season in CLE. Howd that work out? Offerman, anyway you slice it....was a bust. Im not touching Drew bc I happen to like him. Beckett....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA....really? Not even worth arguing. Hes f***ing awful. Note: I agree with spending money, since they charge the highest ticket prices in all of baseball....more busts recently has led to 2 championships.

    Dont forget his s***** attitude..and dont give me the whole lost in translation BS. He is a turd. Unfortunately, the current team is littered with busts and this regime has had a knack for signing busts. Lackey Beckett Drew (not trying to start an argument, but some will say he has been a bust) DiceK Clement Lugo Crisp Wily Mo Pena Renteria Thats a lot of busts. Who were some before that? Everett Offerman Arrojo, although not much was expected. Avery I guess you cant have busts if you arent trying to win. At least they are spending money and have brought in 2 championships, but that is still a lot of wasted money.

    Has anyone else noticed that Okijima has rebounded a little bit to put up numbers that are no longer in the horrid category? His trend is that he is fading fast, but still kudos to him for making a comeback at the end of the season.

    Does anybody think this is his final year in baseball? I havent heard much about him but I do know that he is more reserved than others on the team in terms of speaking to the media. I wouldnt surprise me to see him bow out quietly this offseason. Hes never been one to bring attention to himself.

    I think if they do not re-sign Ortiz, they can work out some kind of platoon with Dunn, Youkilis, Vmart, Beltre and another player thrown in to that mix all rotating in and out of the DH slot. DH is no longer an exclusive position. The question is, who is that person? I dont think it needs to be a big stick OF.......big stick, maybe...but I think the scope is narrow to just consider OF since we will rid ourselves of a "no field all hit" DH type.

    Youd rather have Saltysuck? Beltre, VMart, Dunn and a bullpen rehaul is what we need. We are in decent shape if we get those 3 signed and overhaul the bullpen.

    I hope Vmart is re-signed. He has improved defensively and he looks like he fits in Boston. Not many better offensive catchers in the league.

    Hes been overworked. To me, shut him down. Hes paid his dues this year. No need to over extend him for garbage outings.

    I work for the government, so I hate all administration. Sometimes that spills over. I see the politicking and ******** behind the scenes type garbage to save a buck on a daily basis. I guess bitching and moaning wears thin on anybodies ears, even thick skinned sox fans. Beltre, even when he tails off......I still think hes going to be a productive player if we bring him back. Ive never seen a player swing as hard as him, other than Sheffield....and with the monster only 300 something feet away, theres always a chance. Throw in the fact hes a plus D player....and weve got something of value. I would go like this for a lineup though: Ellsbury Pedroia Vmart Youkilis Dunn Beltre Drew Scutaro Kalish/whoever else signed to play LF. LH/RH doesnt bother me much. Vmart and Youkilis are both better contact hitters than Dunn, therfore should be in the top 4 of the lineup.
