  1. Martinez is one of the best hitting catchers in baseball. Vmart is not that bad, in fact he has improved. Worst ever? You must be 10 years old because you would have seen Scott Hatteberg or Mike Stanley. Ever hear of a guy named Jorge Posada? He plays on a rival team of ours, forget their team name though. He sucks pretty bad too, and we see plenty of him. Mike Piazza made a HOF career of being a sucky catcher. The year they got Gagne they won the world series. David Murphy who? Ill take Gagne and a world series title. This year they did nothing. Again, if you are ok with third place thats fine. This is the wrong market for third place.
  2. So you are ok with not replacing injured players at the deadline and doing nothing to improve yourself? You are ok with third place and paying the highest prices in tickets and concessions. Maybe you should root for the Pirates. They dont do s*** year in and year out and have no problem finishing 3rd or worse year in and out. I am not ok with it. I hate the Yankees......but their front office would NEVER let this happen to them. A bridge year does not exist in NY.....in Boston weve dealt with this s*** twice now since 2004.
  3. What about me? I was called a fairweather fan when I said I wont be going to any more games this year helping out this administration when they did NOTHING to improve themselves at the deadline. Fairweather fan? I call that smart, the only ones still showing up helping their sellout streak are pink hats doing the wave in the 9th inning of a Beckett blowout and singing sweet caroline. Friggin idiots. Hardcore sox fans dont give a s*** about bells and whistles, just win....or at least attempt to. Ive also pretty much hated the Beckett signing from day one. Stop going to the games. TV and Radio ratings are already way down.....those are where the "true" fans are. Just look at this website alone, interest has been wayyyyyyy down this year compared to years past. The only thing the ownership is hanging its hat on is their precious sellout streak. Pink hats need to find a new hobby.
  4. It depends on what you are looking for. A Burtons Grille opened up near the park, and they have a really nice upscale dining type menu. You will spend about 60 bucks per person (drinks, appetizer, tip included in the price). Their menu is here. The best way to enjoy the game is a sausage guy sausage before the game. There are numerous other bars/sausage,hotdog stands around the stadium. I would suggest being around the stadium around 5pm. What to do during the game? Drink beer and watch baseball. Also stuff your face with some fenway franks. If you are in Boston for a couple of days, schedule a Boston Duck Tour. They are a blast. Check out the North End as well. The museum of science and aquarium are also nice.
  5. Beckett again. Way too much of an arrogant pompous *******. Hey Joshy, it was tolerable when you were at least earning some of your salary. You suck, keep your mouth shut.
  6. Why not? He has basically shut it down from they day he signed the extension. Whats more than a couple of weeks.
  7. Hes a pompous, arrogant, ignorant overpaid *******. Oh....you meant performance wise? He picks on weak teams, throws at the heads of players on the s***** Guardians and shits his pants and goes in to the fetal position against good teams.
  8. Kevin Cash. Ever wondered what the average person would look like if they were to hit in the majors for just one AB? Hes made a career of it. Beckett too. A friend of mine was once a groundskeeper for the sox. One day while warming up, a tarp was still on the pitching mound covering it from th rubber back because it had just finished raining. Beckett sees the tarp in the bullpen and turns to my buddy the groundskeeper and says in his ignorant texas accent "Whys this f***ing tarp still covering my f***ing mound". Hes a typical bully type. He throws at guys heads against s***** teams like Cleveland and starts a bench clearing incident and acts all tough, but then against the Yankees and Rangers...two playoff teams....they light his ass up and he hides in the dugout in the fetal position. Hes not an ACE, hes a coward.
  9. I think Kalish will do fine for us but I do think he is a little ways away. A Kalish/Ellsbury/Drew OF kind of scares me for next season in terms of offensive output. I think that once Drew is off the books, and we can add another OF who also comes with a reputation as a proven slugger makes more sense. Then Kalish can play RF where his talents can be utilized rather than LF where we tend to hide players like Mike Greenwell, Reggie Jefferson, Wil Cordero, Troy Oleary, Kevin Millar (spot starts), Kevin Youkilis (spot starts) and Manny Ramirez. LF for Boston is like DH#2. Kalish would be wasted there. I do suppose if he proves himself he can sit out there for a season however.
  10. Delgado may not have been a good defensive player, but at least he was out there playing defense his whole entire career. In 14 seasons......the most games David Ortiz played at 1B was 70 games, when he was 22 years old. Its not like he was hurt and forced in to the DH role, he was assigned that role at the age of 24 years old......thats how terrible Ortiz was considered defensively. At least someone like Jose Canseco made it to almost 30 years old until they were too much of a liability to wear a glove.
  11. This is how I felt when they dealt for Salty. He is their excuse to now not pay VMart. Smear campaign will follow.
  12. Doji, f*** you.....let people be pissed off about it. We arent paying 200% more on ticket prices than every other team in baseball to watch second rate players. We are not the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  13. Why? He doesnt do anything to help us. Hes a terrible defensive catcher who has developed Steve Blass disease aka "throwing yips" and hasnt hit enough in AAA to be valuable enough as a DH/1B solution for Texas to replace Chris Davis. This only gives the FO a reason to not bring back Vmart next year. He is their excuse for not paying Vmart his money. They will ballwash him saying hes a great catching prospect and blah blah blah then turn around and talk s*** about VMart like they do o everyone they dont want to spend money on re-signing. Same mind washing game every offseason with this regime.
  14. Ahhhhh no, I sat there and watched them when Frank Viola was pitching (hence my username "sweet music") in front of 12,000 fans. This season though.......they didnt invest into the rest of the season, so why should intelligent fans. If anything, it will be the pink hat retards still showing up wondering why Varitek isnt pitching or how many home runs Tim Wakefield has hit this year.
  15. Would love to see all the main dogs pack it in for the rest of the year (phantom DL trips) and have the front office lose their coveted sellout streak. Ratings have already plummeted. They threw in the towel today, I wont be going to any more games this season....why should we waste our money on a dead product that is outrageously overpriced? Thats like buying a copy of Madden 2005 but paying full price. f*** the administration.
  16. put a lot of effort just to spam handbags haha.
  17. Why was lethua768 banned? Looks like a legitimate post to me.
  18. I remember his solid pitching appearance. Thats where the memories end.
  19. Thanks for posting that. Those are some pretty ugly numbers. Would not shock me to see him in a real LH RH platoon next year.
  20. There is no problem, as I do know YOTN. ....and I was serious, Sheffield today still scares the s*** out of me if hes up against a Sox pitcher with any runners on inside the bandbox. Neither him if Dye are much worse than Hermidia. Hermidia cant hit or field. Dye and Sheffield just have the no field thing working against them. They might still be able to hit a little. Not sure they would "need" a month to get ready. Its not like they are preparing for the regular season, just get a handful of AB's. Would it really be that bad of a move to carry the guys around when rosters expand? Its a zero risk transaction that does not cost them anything but a little money.
