  1. Nice first inning for Matty.
  2. HAHAH! Unbe-f***ing-leavable.
  3. I like the results, but this is painful to watch. He couldn't throw the ball in the water if he was on a boat right now.
  4. I know. Do I need the weatherman's approval before I use metaphors?
  5. Whattaya say Papi, how about a little thunder before it rains!
  6. I just love Loretta ABs. Even if he doesn't do anything, he make the pitcher throw a shitload of pitches.
  7. I looked at your staff. Look at these two gems I got from starters thus far...... Pitcher IP ERA K WHIP F.Garcia 4.0 15.75 2 2.75 J.Sosa 2.1 23.14 1 4.29

    hey

    Aloha.
  10. Dickey's a knuckleballer. You'd think Texas would know better than to use one with Ameriquest as their home field, especially since they regularly hammer Wake there.

    Jimmy Rollins

I looked at the exact same page when looking for a ruling on this earlier, and I must have just skimmed it without reading closely. Thanks for posting that Stocker. I really need to try and read things more carefully.
  12. I think the postgame from last night revealed Wily Mo will get a start against Baltimore. I will most likely be Saturday's game where lefty Bruce Chen is the probable starter for the O's.
  13. Seconded. Foulke may seem to be on a short leash with the team, but that doesn't compare to choker chain the fans have on him.
  14. I feel there is a need for a thread regarding the goings-on of each manager's players as they play during the week. A thread for each game/moment would be a bit of a waste, but one for the entire week (each week) is probably justifiable. So, to start it off I have to say..... f*** BRIAN JORDAN! Runner on first, one-out, the Giants try a hit and run against the Braves (with my pitcher Jorge Sosa on the bump), and Vizquel hot shots it to first. Jordan boots the line-drive which would have ended the inning since he was right next to the bag and would have gotten Winn for not tagging up. It wasn't ruled an error, but the ball hit him in the glove. Now 3 runs have crossed, and there is still only 1-out. Piss off Brian! EDIT: Make that 6 runs now in 2.1 IP, instead of 0 runs in 3 IP.
  15. All true, but Ortiz isn't anywhere near Vaugh's girth the last two years of his career. Sure, Ortiz is no svelte guy, but he isn't this big. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/040108/040108_mo_vaughn_.vsmall.jpg Mo was 34 and 35 when he played for the Mets. Ortiz is 30 this year, and if they extend him, it would be for his 31-34 age years. Provided he maintains his current size, I don't see this a big issue of concern, especially since he won't be adding stress to his knees by playing the field. Besides, even if he does experience similar problems, it will be worth a .260/.340/.450 with 26 homer line (Mo's age 34 year line) that last year to get what he's doing now for a few more years.
  16. I was really impressed by the Francona decision to use Papelbon to shut the door in a 1-run game. It went totally against my impression of him as guy who always lets the vet fail miserably before using a kid. Kudos to Tito. Another thing I like were his comments after the game. He said Foulke isn't necessarily out as the closer but that he just hasn't showed he's ready for that tight of a spot. This is the right move IMO. Foulke didn't pitch much in ST, and his first inning of the season wasn't awe inspiring. Tito wants to use him in progressively harder situations, working him into the closer role. Papelbon is capable of being the relief ace while Foulke works things out. If Foulke is able to get all the way back, then this is going to be a sick bullpen with Papelbon and Co. shutting down innings 6-8.
  17. Mo Vaugh's demise started with him f***ing his ankle up while trying to field a foul-pop near the dugout. Terrible comparison on you part.....
  18. There you go Big Hurt! Bases clearing double, 9-4....good guys.
  19. Scutaro = Yankee killer
  20. I nominate this for Derogatory Yankee Nickname of the Year. We should have a contest.
  21. Arroyo got Crede'd there on the dropped foul pop up.
  22. He just brushed Lee back. I will miss that side of Bronson, total fearlessness. EDIT: And I won't miss that side, Aramis 2-run jack.
