  1. Come on, you are in the food business. Coco's arm is al dente, what we saw last year was a wet noddle. EDIT: In other news, KevinFC is officially batting 1.000 and slugging 2.000. Looks like we should have re-signed him.
  2. I loved that Loretta AB. He's going to become a fan favorite pretty quick.
  3. Damn skippy. Nice to see AGon prove we shouldn't cut him........yet.
  4. Aloha. EDIT: No aloha for Clay.
  5. UCLA looked really good in the first half. I really like the prospect of a UCLA/UF championship game. I think those two teams match-up really well. Similar athleticism, good big men, good guards. That would be a really good game.
  6. Taurean Green has been the difference thus far. He's been unconscious. That said, GMU has to be happy being only down 5 after a half where they couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. Go Pats! EDIT: And the 2nd half begins with 2 Humphrey treys. If UF stays this hot from behind the arc, GMU will be headed home. They either need Florida to come back to Earth, or they need to start draining some.
  7. Tony Skinn is sick.

I found it over at Baseball-Almanac.com while looking for a clear description of the criteria of the rule (in an attempt to answer HHM's query). AL: 34 games - George Sisler, St. Louis, 1925 NL: 44 games - Willie Keeler, Baltimore, 1897

I'm well aware of what it is called, but HHM brings up an interesting question. Can his streak be legitimately ended without giving him a chance to hit? You speak so often as if everything is absolute, as if we live in a black and white world, when in reality, there are many shades of gray in between.

I'm not sure about that. It would depend on whether or not the record requires the player to record an AB in the game. All IBBs would mean no ABs, so the language of the record would matter. Let me see if I can find something.

By definition, that woud fit the record. Although, I would definitely take issue with it. However, that isn't the case with Rollins. The only thing causing a break in his streak is the end of the season.

You are missing the point, the records' titles tell the whole story. Single Season HR Record: By title, you have one season to do it. Consecutive-Game Hit Streak: By title, the time limit isn't specified.

  21. Not so fast sarasox, from ESPN Deportes. Here's the article translated with an online translator. EDIT: These translators kill me. 148 careers towed?
  22. Ever been there? It's a scary town away from the Harbor.
