  1. Well, it appears Andrew will start the year off in Wilmington (A+). Hopefully, he gets off to a hot start and is moved up to Portland soon, as I think they need to try and get him in against age appropriate competition. link
  2. Aloha.
  3. I fully agree, but you are going to have to do better than that.
  4. Which agrees with my assumption. The operator of the YES gun is picking the pitch up later, thus the lower velocity reading. I'm not saying he has lost 10 mph off his fastball since coming to NY. I'm saying the point of reference has changed.
  5. Nice. Take a metaphoric figure of speech and interpret it literally. Your wit is about as sharp as a spoon. Care to dissect that one too?
  6. The gun is probably fine. It all depends on where in the pitch's trajectory that the gun picks up the pitch. I remember reading an article that said a pitch delivered at 90 mph from the mound will cross the plate at around 82 mph after the drag force has slowed it down. I would imagine that YES calibrates their gun regularly, but whoever is operating it isn't picking up the pitch until it is closer to the plate.
  7. No, that is your new line, the one you adopted after ST performance and reports said Schilling was looking much better. You don't get credit for that being your opinion all along because it wasn't. Allow me. That was your original stance. In that thread you say you think the injury cooked him for good, that he was healthy when he struggled last year, and he sucked because he'd never be the same again. Clearly, he is a different pitcher now than he was from July on of '05. Better control, better velocity, better stuff, better stamina. So, my point remains. You have changed your opinion now in light of contradictory evidence, but your prediction is essentially the same, only you have altered the timeframe of Schilling's demise. Pretty transparent, if you ask me. Like I said, come May, I fully expect that your doom and gloom forcast will be moved to the 2nd half if Schilling is still pitching well. And so on, and so on. BTW, ask anyone here, I have the memory of a f***ing elephant. Don't play the, "I'll pull up some of my old quotes", game with me. It will end badly for you.
  8. It hardly matters how they are doing come May, as I mention in another post. You will either prance around saying, "I told you so", if you are right, or you will just adjust the timeframe for your doom and gloom prediction if you are wrong, like you did with your Schilling prediction. One game/AB/start certainly isn't enough to discredit, but the way you have already changed your tune once it was proven wrong certainly is.
  9. The Big Hurt will be the difference maker between the '05 and '06 Oakland teams, IMO. He still wields a mighty stick when he's healthy.
  10. Damn you Arthur! http://pbskids.org/arthur/friends/images/rollovers/arthur_home.gif http://www.piscesposters.com/russ/baseball/bernie.JPG Is Demon a "true Yankee" now?
  11. Slick D there for A-Rod and Giambi.
  12. Damn, Zito can't find the plate now.
  13. Roberto Petagine homers off Francisco Rodriquez in Seattle to pull the Mariners within one run in the 9th, 5-4, 1 down.
  14. Foulke's not looking so good. He needs that extra 3/4 mph on the heater to get the differential right for the change. He doesn't have it today. But, 7-3 win is now in the books. Good start.
  15. You must have missed his antics two or so months ago. First, it was Schilling is cooked because his leg won't recover and he'll be a high-80's pitcher. Then, it was he'll come out of the gate strong but falter later after ST reports said his leg was strong and velocity looked good. Next, when/if Schilling is going strong by mid-May, it will be, "He won't have the gas for the 2nd half." If he does, it will be, "He'll crap out in the playoffs." What the heck am I doing, Hey Riv, I just wrote your next 4 months of material. Might as well not bother showing up.
  16. Yeah, and Lowell was cooked too according to you. Credibility - DENIED!
  17. C'mon 'Tek, go WBC on their asses!
  18. I'm not bashing him. I think he's a little reacitve, whereas I tend to be proactive. Just a difference of opinion.
  19. Ok Trot, thanks for making me taste Nike. I deserved it.
  20. WMP is on the roster for a reason. Trot sucks vs. lefties, Stern can play the field. Let's use our head now Tito.
  21. So this Ortiz guy, he's pretty good. I say we keep him.
  22. I'm loving watching Loretta at the plate. He makes the pitcher eFF'ing work, and rarely gets fooled. I think he's going to be a big asset.
