  1. Dontrelle's good and all, but if the Marlins are willing to deal him, then you have to think they'd be willing to deal Cabrera some time after. If it's my call, I let the little fish pass and save my bait for the monster.
  2. Quoted for truth.
  3. Aloha.
  4. Bowden started the year off in Greenville's (A) rotation. 4/9 vs. Columbus IP H R ER K BB ERA 5.0 3 0 0 6 1 0.00
  5. Aloha.
  6. Smoltz! and Lowe are bad SPs? You might want to rethink that one.
  7. If they keep hitting in the Carolina League like they have this week, they may be up by the end of the month*. *A little exaggeration, but they are red hot right now.
  8. The team he pitched for is irrelevant. The CY isn't for the most valuable pitcher, it is for the best pitcher, and SPs rightly get more respect than RPs because RPs have always been failed SPs. Mariano had a great year last year, but Johan had a better year IMO because he is a starter. Yes, Gagne and Eck won a CY, but Eck didn't deserve it in '92. He deserved it in '90, where his ERA was 0.61, his ERA+ was 606, and his WHIP was 0.61, and I think the sportwriters were just correcting a mistake. Gagne won it with a 1.20 ERA, 335 ERA+, 14.9 K/9, 0.69 WHIP, and 55/55 SV. Mo's ERA and ERA+ stats were close to Gagne's, but his peripheral stats weren't and he wasn't perfect. They have set the bar for relievers. Mo didn't clear it.
  9. So typical of the meathead. You are stupid, so therefore, in order to justify your stupidity, you have to consider all intelligent people to be pencil necked geeks. Sorry, not the case here. Keep telling yourself that so you can sleep soundly though. Back on topic. I don't see why you think Bronson Arroyo was such a big hit to this team's BP. They have a left handed version of him in Lenny DiNardo. Actually, Lenny is better suited to be the LRP in Fenway because he keeps the ball on the ground very well, something Bronson always struggled with. Face it, Bronson Arroyo was a declining league average pitcher who got hammered by lefties and was proned to giving up the long ball (still is, he gave up two in his opener in his new bandbox ballpark). I can understand being upset with the FO for acquiring a project player if they gave up a key component to the '06 team or a decent prospect, but they didn't.
  10. Home, home on the range Where the deer and the develope play.... People that have a hard time with something basic like the english language are hard to take seriously.
  11. Big day for Jacoby today. 4/6, 2B, HR, 2 RBI Season (4 games): .421/.421/.737/1.158, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 0/4 BB/K
  12. Anybody translate stupid? I can't figure out what this says.
  13. Exactly Crespo. Mariano had a great year, but not good enough to get over the relief pitcher bump just like Ortiz had a great year, but not good enough to get over the DH bump. Oh, and by the way, the Cy Young is for the best pitcher, not most valuable.
  14. If he's not the lefty that pitches for the Twins, then I'll have to disagree.
  15. Why can't you recognize a little s*** talking?? Lighten up.
  16. Andrew played 3B in Wilmington's 4 games this week. He seems to have gotten off to a rough start, although he is putting the ball in play. Here's what he did for the week. I'll post updates every Sunday. AB H R 2B 3B HR RBI SO BB BA/OBP/SLG SF SB IBB HBP 14 3 0 1 0 0 1 1 1 .143/.278/.214 1 0 0 2
  17. Goes to show what a f***ing paper weight that award is half the time.
  18. Three relief aces? I like the sound of that.
  19. FOULKE ME! That change looks good.
  20. He's locating very well.
  21. So did the 1989 Yankees. Congrats. Aside from one game, so have the 2006 Yankees*. *Sorry, you left that door wide open.
